In our current days building strong relationships on social media is essential, so engaging your social audience on a meaningful level, helps your brand look more human.
The five essential aspects that you need to concentrate on are the following:
1.Show your sense of humor(if you don’t have one, ask someone to do it)
Humor is, was and will be the easiest way to effectively connect with your audience on social media or even in your society or community. It’s just like telling a joke to relax the crowd at a speech or maybe in a group of friends. But there are three factors to focus on when using humor, fun, information and control. You also want to make sure that your humor isn’t hurting other people. So be polite, never be racist or controversial.
2.Use of everyday language(don’t be posh or fancy)
90% of the users join social media channels because one good reason, and that reason is they want to be entertained. They don’t want to listen or read about fancy or complicated business language and industry jargon while browsing their Facebook news feed. They want to see words that they understand and don’t have to look up Google for synonyms or search for what is the meaning of Abilene Paradox.
By the way the meaning of Abilene Paradox is a feature/cause of many poor or daft decisions by groups or committees, in which the collective (unanimous or group) decision is considered wrong or silly by individual members, and/or is clearly wrong or silly from a rational standpoint. I’ve also googled it to understand. See, you don’t want that from you everyday user who has tons of information to scroll in his news feed.
3.Engage in Conversation(talk, talk, talk, don’t chit-chat)
Your audience wants to be heard and be in your spotlight when they approach you with a question or concern. But you need to understand one thing, you can’t just talk to people just for the sake of interacting with them, you have to give them the information that is essential for their needs. Small gestures can go a long way toward building a relationship on social channels, but accurate, honest and transparent responses go even further.
4.Sign Your Posts(this is something that has been skipped by so many)
Signing your post has become on of the factors that are always skipped. What’s the use of signing you post when your profile already contains your name or the brand. Well, it’s a really important factor in the steps of humanizing your brand. Adding a poster’s name to your social updates is an easy way to put a human face to your brand, that way they not that it’s not an automated feed. The idea is to give your audience a clear picture of the person they’re talking to, making the interaction more personal. Hi, this is Alexander from …..
5.Be Unique(Why? There is such a huge variety of information to rewrite)
Well, the social media users are bombarded by information every minute, every second, so be sure not to copy any post from the already written one. Each person has a way of talking that makes him or her unique, this is your unique voice. In a similar way, brands need to create their own personality on social media and become that figure that the audience recognizes and appreciates.
So, how about it? Are you ready to become a human brand on social media? What do you think? Have you tried any of these factors in your daily task on connecting and building your PR with your target audience? Are you a human?
