Rigged slot machines discovered in Romania

A total of 313 searches have been carried out by Romanian Special Police Forces, with the purpose of putting an end to a 3-year period of fraud, in which some individuals have managed to “hack” slots machines and eventually make them “win less”. We are talking about Casino-Club owners and workers.

The police has managed to conduct 313 searches in 29 cities, including the capital, in an effort to bring in those responsible for hacking the slot machines, adding them a so-called “BREAK”, which minimized the chances of the slot machine to give away winnings.

This kind of activities, sources say, have started in 2013 and continued until the day the police came. 8 people have been arrested and other 14 people have received judicial review.

The police has also confiscated 492.136 RON, 101.695 Euro, 500 USD, 2.180 Cannadian Dollars, 120 British Pounds, 596.000 Hungarian Forints, 320 Croatian Kuna, a 1kg Gold Bar, a 50-gram Silver Bar, 75 gold coins, 21 silver coins, 5 golden badges and 77 unlicensed slot machines. Also, they have discovered 15 more locations, that were running without a proper license.

More information will follow as the police will gather more evidence.
