Google has thrown dust in the eyes of the SEO experts, webmasters and marketing managers once again. Over the last few weeks all the talks revolved on the next Google Panda update, which never came, but could be implemented as a surprise after the rumors settle.
Google has been doing this for years and it’s kind of fun to see everybody jumping around and tweaking, preparing for a possible doomsday or higher rankings due to a google algorithm update. Well, the Panda hasn’t arrived, possibly the guy who had to push enter button and deploy the new update is still in on his annual leave, but that doesn’t mean it’s not coming this summer.
Nevertheless, an update has been implemented and it’s a core search algorithm update which has been signaled by some webmasters and the changes are major. Websites that are related to news content have seen an increase of their SEO visibility in changes in their traffic coming from google search results.
Some online Search experts pointed out that “new newsworthy content” websites received a boost with this traffic. Some seen increases of 134% in keyword visibility in Google.
We need to mention that over this weekend our portal has received a huge wave of visitors coming from keywords that we haven’t seen before and have been optimized to drive traffic earlier. Our keywords that were already ranking in the top 50 have jumped 20 pages and this is definitely a presence of an update.
Some believe that there is no coincidence between this core search algorithm update and the real-time new version of Google Trends that has been launched last week. The new Google Trends will probably work better to asses news-worthy content and the algorithm update comes as a patch for that.
Either way, we sure that we are going to see a Panda update in the next few weeks to complete the circle of the update.
Have you seen any increase in your website, if so, be sure to send us an email with your report to [email protected] and we shall publish it to our crowd.
