Midnite to hand out 1,000 free chicken parmos at Middlesbrough matchday fan zone

Midnite will serve 1,000 free Teesside parmos to Middlesbrough supporters in the Fan Zone at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, October 17, ahead of the club’s home fixture vs Cardiff City. The giveaway starts at 10am, with fans required to show a match ticket to claim a parmo while supplies last.

The activation follows a “Parmo Challenge” filmed earlier this month, featuring Middlesbrough legends David Wheater and Craig Hignett competing against first-team players Alfie Jones and Sol Brynn. The winner was decided by head coach Kim Hellberg, with the result set to be revealed on Midnite’s social channels after the match.

Wheater and Hignett will also attend the Fan Zone to help local food truck caterer Crazy & Co serve the food. David Wheater said: “While you’ll have to stay tuned to social media to find out who won the Parmo Challenge, my Parmo was made with a lot of heart, cheese, chicken and a whole lot of béchamel sauce.

“It was a really fun experience to take part in, and it’s even better knowing that the fans get to be part of it too, with an even tastier Parmo on matchday.”

Midnite, Middlesbrough’s Principal Partner for the 2026/27 season, said the matchday giveaway sits alongside its fan-focused promotions this season, including ‘This Season’s On Us’ and its season-long ‘2UP’ initiative. Under 2UP, Midnite said one supporter can win a prize pot at every home league match if Middlesbrough go two goals ahead; the pot starts at £1,000 and increases by £1,000 after every home league game. The company said Middlesbrough fans have “won a combined £3,000” so far this season.

Andrew Mook, Head of Brand Marketing at Midnite, said: “There is no more recognisable meal for Middlesbrough locals than a Teesside Parmo, and we’re pleased to be able to celebrate it while giving something back to the fans who show up every week.

“Alongside ‘This Season’s On Us’ and ‘2UP’, the core of what we do at Midnite is making sure the fan experience is at the heart of everything.”
