Tonybet-backed Brampton Blitz exit Canada Super60 in semi-final loss

Defending men’s champions fall to Vancouver Anchors at BC Place as Toronto Sixers win the 2026 title in a last-ball finish.

Tonybet said it has marked Brampton Blitz’s run to the semi-finals of Canada Super60 after the team’s campaign ended at BC Place in Vancouver on Sunday, 5 October 2026. The defending men’s champions lost by six wickets to Vancouver Anchors despite Asa Tribe’s 39 off 14 balls, with Hardus Viljoen taking three wickets as Brampton attempted to defend 101.

Brampton entered the tournament as the inaugural men’s title winner in 2025 and opened its 2026 defence with back-to-back wins. The Blitz beat White Rock Warriors by three wickets, reaching the target with an over to spare, then chased down Toronto Sixers’ 156/5 to win by four wickets after finishing on 158/6 with one ball remaining.

Defeats to Vancouver Anchors and Mississauga Masters followed before Brampton closed the league phase with a seven-run win over Montreal Royal Tigers. James Vince hit 73 off 31 balls, including nine sixes, to lift Brampton to 149/4, before the bowlers held Montreal to 142/5.

The three wins from five league matches left Brampton third and set up the knockout meeting with Vancouver, where the title defence ended. In the final, Toronto Sixers won the men’s title in a last-ball finish, reaching 168/5 to beat Vancouver Anchors’ 164/3 by five wickets.

Tonybet said the partnership with the Brampton franchise was intended to support Canadian cricket and add to its broader sporting involvement in Canada, with the company noting “scope to explore further collaborations.”
