Tonybet-backed Brampton Blitz exit Canada Super60 in semi-finals
Tonybet marked Brampton Blitz’s Canada Super60 campaign after the defending champions’ run ended in the semi-finals at BC Place in Vancouver on 5 October 2026. Brampton lost by six wickets to Vancouver Anchors, despite Asa Tribe’s 39 from 14 balls and a three-wicket haul from Hardus Viljoen as the Blitz defended 101.
Brampton entered the tournament as the inaugural men’s champions from 2025 and started their defence with two wins. The Blitz beat White Rock Warriors by three wickets and then chased down Toronto Sixers’ 156/5, reaching 158/6 with one ball remaining to secure a four-wicket victory.
Two defeats—against Vancouver Anchors and Mississauga Masters—followed before Brampton closed the league phase with a seven-run win over Montreal Royal Tigers. James Vince scored 73 from 31 balls, including nine sixes, as the Blitz posted 149/4 and then held Montreal to 142/5.
The Blitz finished third in the standings with three wins from five matches to set up the semi-final rematch with Vancouver. In the final, Toronto Sixers won the men’s title in a last-ball finish, reaching 168/5 to beat Vancouver Anchors’ 164/3 by five wickets.
Tonybet said its partnership with the Brampton franchise was aimed at supporting Canadian cricket through a city-based team with community ties, and added that the deal could lead to further collaborations in Canada.
