Fast-growing iGaming business Checkd Group has appointed experienced trading expert Paul Lowery as its new Head of Sports.

Lowery, who previously worked with Checkd Group operator partner Sky Betting & Gaming, will lead the ambitious Group’s revenue strategy as it seeks to further accelerate growth domestically and in the US, where it recently launched sports betting tipster FlashPicks.

Lowery’s most recent role at Sky Betting & Gaming was US Sports Trading Lead, and in more than a decade spent with the company he also held senior positions in trading and odds compilation, in-play betting and risk management.

Checkd Group is in the process of making a number of key appointments as looks to build on recent successes, including the FlashPicks launch, the creation of a bespoke Acca Assist product for Sky Bet and renewed operator partnerships with Betfair, Sky Betting & Gaming and SBK.

Alex Beecham, Managing Director of Checkd Media, said: “In seeking to fill the role of Head of Sports, we wanted to bring in a figure of authority who knows the industry inside-out and who could successfully lead our revenue drive domestically and in the United States.

“Paul’s experience and vast trading know-how made him the best person for the job. It’s a significant appointment for us and we are delighted to have him on board as we look to make further waves in the industry through 2022 and beyond.”

Paul Lowery, Head of Sports at Checkd Group, said: “Having spent almost 11 years at Sky Betting & Gaming in various roles across the trading team, I was always impressed with the way that its partner Checkd Group was able to build and engage with a huge audience of sports fans.

“I am looking forward to getting involved in a new space, working alongside a group of innovative thinkers looking to broaden their revenue streams.”
