SBK to sponsor Doncaster’s Lincoln meeting

SBK, the sportsbook app powered by Smarkets, has been announced as the new title sponsor of The Lincoln meeting at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday 26 March 2022.

The SBK Lincoln, a one-mile heritage handicap worth £100,000, is seen as the traditional curtain-raiser of the British flat racing season. First run at Doncaster in 1965, recent winners of the race include the John and Thady Gosden-trained Haqeeqy (2021) and William Haggas’ multiple Group 1 scorer Addeybb (2018).

This year’s current ante-post favourite Mujtaba (5/1 with SBK) is trained by Haggas, with Charlie Appleby’s Modern News (7/1) also near the top of our market.

The sponsorship deal with Arena Racing Company (ARC) will see extensive SBK branding across the site at Doncaster Racecourse and involvement with all race titles across both days of the Lincoln Meeting (26-27 March 2022). SBK will also be hosting an exciting flat season preview before racing on the Saturday, with insight from special guests and exclusive promotional guest offers.

The agreement with ARC marks another significant partnership in racing for SBK following their recent sponsorship of the Grade 1 SBK Clarence House Chase at Ascot. SBK is also proud sponsor of trainer George Boughey, and has several jockey ambassadors, including flat riders Sean Levey and Nicola Currie.

Adam Baylis, Head of Customer Marketing at SBK, said:

“We are thrilled to be sponsoring the Lincoln as part of SBK’s growing horse racing portfolio. The heritage handicap holds a special place in the racing calendar as the first major race of the British flat season and we look forward to being part of its rich history.”

David Leydan Dunbar, Group Director of Partnerships at ARC, added:

“We are delighted to welcome SBK to Doncaster Racecourse and the Lincoln meeting. The race is a hugely important part of the programme at Doncaster as the British summer flat season officially gets underway, and SBK will be an excellent partner for the meeting.”

Selected SBK Lincoln ante-post odds:

5/1 Mujtaba, 7/1 Modern News, 11/1 Sunray Major, 15/1 Valiant Prince, 16/1 Anmaat, 16/1 La Tihaty, 17/1 Saleymm, 21/1 Brunch
