The online sports betting market has been through some changed that led Planetwin365 to the top of the lists.
Numbers released by the Italian Agimeg revealed that the Austria-based Planetwin365 is once again the sports betting market leader as it dethroned Bet365. The company managed to grab a 14.9 percent share of the market in September.
During last month’s operations, Bet365 captured 13 percent of the market, a little behind of Planetwin365. This move is specially driven by the betting partnership between Planetwin365 and footballers from Napoli, a Serie A team. The company has been growing significantly in the last few months, as it also dethroned Ladbrokes Coral Group’s Eurobet for second place of the online lists.
The online betting market in Italy grew 31.4 percent year-on-year to US$56.4 million, whilst retail betting reported a 1 percent increase to US$81.4 million.
The online gaming sector in Italy has been reporting optimistic results, surpassing the total revenue of land-based operations. According to a report demo Agimeg published last month, sports betting revenue from August doubled July’s, and achieved a 89 percent improvement.
