Jonathan Swerdlow is the founder and CEO of GamyTech, the first social and mobile focused white label platform. He is an iGaming executive with vast experience in providing operational, technical and business leadership for innovative B2B gaming organizations. Jonathan is a dynamic, hands-on, executive with extensive experience in developing and launching innovative products and technology that shape the future of mobile gaming. An innovator, entrepreneur, life-long student of marketing and sales, and on occasion – a speaker about these subjects.

We have managed to get a sneak preview of what to expect from Jonathan’s presentation at the Eastern European Gaming Summit 2015.

EEG: Hi Jonathan, since you are one of the key speakers of the GAMING EVOLUTION IN A DIGITAL REVOLUTION panel, we would like to have a sneak preview about what the discussion and presentation will be all about.

We have been providing a large set of news about this new wave called social gaming. In certainly gaining a lot of track in the industry with brands appearing daily in the main iGaming markets. The word on the street that the social gaming industry will reach $11 billion by 2016, what is the proportion that Eastern and Central European markets generate to this sum?

Jonathan: Social Gaming has been growing at a pace we have never seen before. The industry has been living a complete boom since the first games launched on social networks such as Facebook, VK, and QQ. Obviously the growth of the smart phone industry has also played a central role in this transition from PC to mobile. So, as you said, Social & Mobile Gaming is quite a big market today, and obviously Eastern Europe represents a big chunk of this. Russia alone represents almost one-third of the social gamers in the world. According to the data, the Eastern European market was estimated at around 2.2 Billion Dollars. Russia leads the industry, followed by Turkey and Poland.

EEG: Social gaming is relatively new, but not as new as the wearable devices that are catching on really fast. We are playing social games on our smartphones every day, how soon do you think this sector will switch to smart watches or any other wearable device?

Jonathan: There are some impressive new technologies out there. And in order to succeed in the industry, it is important to always keep an eye on new developments and trends. Personally, I believe that Virtual Reality and devices such as the Oculus Rift might transform the gaming and gambling industry forever by offering a completely new 360’ immersive experience to the players around the world. As for wearable devices and smart TVs, they are slowly developing their gaming functionalities. I believe that completely new and different experiences can be offered on all those devices. We just need to figure out the best way to make use of those by treating them as a completely new phenomenon.

EEG: Social gaming enables qualified experts or young entrepreneurs to reinvent the industry, and we certainly know that there is a large part of employees and young tech enthusiasts coming from this demographic. What is your advice, just in 3-4 words for these professionals looking to engage in social gaming and innovate?

Jonathan: Work passionately with like-minded talent.

Betway Bulgaria officially launches, offers live and bet-builder options

Published

on

Another company has officially launched its activities in the growing niche of online betting in Bulgaria. But here we are not just talking about another operator licensed by national institutions, but about a leading brand worldwide. Betway is one of the largest bookmakers in Europe and globally, and the fact that it already offers its services in Bulgaria speaks positively about the development of the gambling business in the country.

Indications of an increase in the size of the industry appeared last year, when several operators received a permit to operate under Bulgarian jurisdiction. It is unlikely that this process will end with the official launch of betway bulgaria, rather the brand entering the country can be perceived by international operators as a positive assessment of the market in Bulgaria. What can we find at Betway besides the obvious – increased competition and of course more choice for consumers?

What do we find in the sports section?

Sports betting – this is the leading sector of the company, which started operations in 2006. The brand is associated with a number of teams in Europe such as Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, Leicester, Alaves, Belenenses, Werder, etc. Of course, the top championships in Europe are present in the latest betting platform, but that’s not all. Betway offers the opportunity to make predictions at less popular UEFA championships. The fans of the Bulgarian championship have options too. All matches of the First League are present in the bookmaker’s menu, and are offered with dozens of choices for each of them.

Real-time bets and long-term combinations

Live bets are a big thrill for many players. This option is present at Betway, and this also applies to the mobile version, of course. It is not difficult to detect current events – they come first when loading the platform. And with them the bookmaker really comes up with interesting offers, some of which are rare on the Bulgarian market. The outcome of the bets become clear in literally seconds if the next goal market or one of the performance options is selected.

In addition, the company accepts predictions with a much longer horizon. It is now standard to bet on who will be the champion in England, Spain, Italy or Germany. However, there are also specific markets and selections for certain teams – will Barcelona take the trophy this season, will Liverpool reach the final in at least one of the tournaments in which it participates, etc. And if users don’t find what they’re looking for in these offers, they can always turn to the betting menu. The bet-builder is still limited to one match, from which we can choose two or more selections until the desired odds are formed. This is the most appropriate way to optimize the bet according to personal preferences and therefore it is increasingly preferred by the players.

Betway’s first steps on the Bulgarian market are impressive. And this is just the beginning, we can expect even more in the near future.
