1xBet to take esports betting to new heights in 2021
1xBet to take esports betting to new heights in 2021Reading Time: 3 minutes

After winning SBC’s Esports Operator of the Year award in 2020, the 1xBet Team is looking forward to developing its offer with new partnerships and tournaments over the next 12 months as the esports market continues to flourish.

Casino Review: How exciting is it for the company to win Esports Operator of the Year?

1xBet Team: We are pleased with the results and intend to keep moving forward. Winning the SBC Award is the result of hard work and improvement. The results of the year showed that we offered players the best opportunities for betting on esports.

We reinforced our interest in esports both with a broad line and top partnerships with NAVI and Cascade.

1xBet intends to develop this direction of betting and retain the best esports operator’s title already in 2021.

CR: How important has esports become to 1xBet’s big picture in recent years? Has this accelerated this year?

1xBet Team: Esports has become part of the wide range of entertainment that 1xBet offers. Recognition of reputable awards proves that for us, this is not just another discipline in the line.

In 2020, many significant tournaments took place with huge prize money and millions of viewers. In the organization of some events, 1xBet was directly involved, as it was in the NAVI’s show match between the legends and the current CS: GO roster.

We see the interest of a significant part of the audience in this area, and therefore we offer users the most exciting promotions and events for betting.

CR: Is there a difference between your average esports bettor and your average football bettor? What’s the main challenge to converting esports fans into bettors, and how does 1xBet overcome it?

1xBet Team: Any discipline has its target audience, which may have its characteristics. Esports fans are somewhat younger than football fans. This is supported by numerous studies that show the average football fan is growing in age.

Otherwise, esports fans, like football fans, also want to test their forecasting skills, support idols, or just make money on the bet.

We know the esports audience’s values, and therefore we offer them what is of interest to them. For example, contests for the recently released Xbox Series X and Sony Playstation 5. What gamer doesn’t want to win a new console?

CR: What obstacles does the esports market face right now? Are game publishers becoming more open to working with betting companies?

1xBet Team: If we talk about esports betting, now, on the contrary, it is a very favorable environment for development. Dozens of tournaments are held every day; teams enlist the support of sponsors. Today bookmakers are contributing to the development of esports.

As far as game developers are concerned, this is a partnership issue. We would love to collaborate with a developer if the opportunity presents itself.

CR: With technology being a huge driver behind the advancement of esports, how bright is the future of esports, and what developments – tech or otherwise  – are the 1xBet team most looking forward to?

1xBet Team: Cutting-edge technology doesn’t have a big impact on the development of esports. Accessibility and speed of work are what games strive for, which claim to be an esports discipline. This is a product that will run on medium systems and will be comfortable to play.

Today, Dota 2 and CS: GO are still among the most popular cyber disciplines, which will soon celebrate their 10th anniversary. We would like to see new solutions that could compete with these legendary games. The emergence of new fields would give a new impetus to the development of esports since this area is now developing quantitatively, but not always qualitatively.

Gainr Group launches new Sports Betting Syndicate

Main Press Release

Gainr is a leader in AI and Web3-driven alternative investment innovation, proudly announces the official launch of its new sports betting syndicate this April. Built to meet the growing demand for automated, data-driven investment strategies, the syndicate will leverage Gainr’s AI and Web3 technology stack to execute sport prediction market strategies at scale.

Designed as a modern alternative to traditional funds, the Gainr Syndicate investment style is the systematic execution of sports trading signals that detect inefficiencies in sport prediction markets on Asian books, aggregators and sports betting exchanges. The trading signals are produced by verified strategies from curated partners, allowing access to greater liquidity and hence fund scalability.

Administered and audited by Suntera Global, the syndicate provides a scalable, low-friction solution for investors seeking crypto and tech stock level returns but without the associated volatility.  Gainr achieves this by leveraging powerful portfolio optimisation techniques to distribute the capital under management in the most optimal way across all partner strategies in order to minimize the variance of the returns.

Theo Koumis, CEO and Founder of Gainr, commented: “The launch of our syndicate marks a major milestone in our mission to modernise the sports betting syndicate space that has traditionally been closed to outside investors due to liquidity issues. Most syndicates specialise in a couple of sports and markets. We aim to have over 100 verified partner strategies by the end of the first year of operations covering multiple sports and markets.  In phase two, we will expose our Datawarehouse and Auto-ML system to external analysts to build and deploy strategies directly onto our trading platform allowing us to scale faster than any other sports betting syndicate has previously done before. My vision is to be the first sports syndicate to have a FUM (Funds Under Management) of $1B.”

Gainr benefits from a proprietary trading technology stack that includes predictive modelling, odds optimisation, and automated market-making. The Syndicate is engineered for alternative investors, high-net-worth individuals, and professional betting operations looking to diversify into sports betting markets to achieve superior uncorrelated returns than traditional investments.

This expansion further strengthens Gainr’s commitment to innovation, offering investors and partners a future-facing ecosystem designed to outperform traditional funds and syndicates.

Leading Indian esports organization S8UL has officially qualified to represent India at the Pokémon World Championship 2025, scheduled to take place from August 15-17 in Anaheim, USA. This marks the third time that S8UL has emerged as the champions of the Indian regional qualifiers for the Pokémon UNITE World Championship — a testament to their dominance and consistency at the national level.

The achievement follows S8UL’s remarkable performance at the India qualifiers, where the team made an impressive comeback to win the championship title

The S8UL Pokémon UNITE roster comprises some of India’s top talent in the title:

  • Manmohan ‘AllMight’ Singh (Captain)
  • Rahul Sharad “Kyurem” Lavhate
  • Deep “Snowyy” Patel
  • Adnan “Badshahh” Badshah
  • Rudra Narayan “ReX” Nayak
  • Aditya “Reapy” Bhujbal

S8UL’s qualification comes on the back of a thrilling campaign in the Indian regional playoffs. The team suffered an early blow in the playoffs, losing their opening Upper Bracket Quarterfinal match 0-2 to True Rippers. Dropping to the Lower Bracket, they began their resurgence by defeating Team Dynamis 2-0, followed by an assertive performance against Autobotz in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals.

Their comeback arc peaked when they faced True Rippers again in the Lower Bracket Semifinals, this time coming out on top in a hard-fought and emotional victory. The momentum carried forward into a clinical win over QML in the Lower Bracket Finals, marking four consecutive knockout wins to earn their spot in the Grand Finals.

After an early setback in the playoffs, S8UL bounced back with unmatched determination, defeating Revenant Xspark in a well-contested Grand Final with scores of 2-0, 2-1. The victory not only secured S8UL the INR 12.85 lakh first prize but also earned them the prestigious opportunity to compete on the global stage.

Speaking on the achievement, team captain Manmohan ‘AllMight’ Singh said, “Representing India at the World Championship is a fantastic feeling. We knew we had the potential, it was about staying composed and focused after the initial round loss. This victory is a testament to our hard work, dedication, team strategy and communication. We’re honored to represent the nation and will give it everything we’ve got in Anaheim.”

Animesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO of S8UL, added: “Winning the Indian qualifiers for the third time in a row is a proud moment for all of us at S8UL. This team has consistently raised the bar for Indian esports and their resilience in this campaign was nothing short of inspiring. Representing India on a global stage again is not just an achievement, it’s a responsibility — and we’re ready to make the country proud.”

The Pokémon World Championship 2025 will feature 32 of the best teams from across the globe competing for international glory and a share of the INR 4.28 cr prize pool, part of the broader INR 8.56 cr + Pokémon UNITE Championship Series. Now in its fourth year, the championship continues to spotlight the highest level of competitive play in the title.

This victory is yet another milestone in S8UL’s expanding international legacy. As an official Club Partner at the Esports World Cup (EWC), S8UL is at the forefront of India’s presence on the global esports stage. With multiple teams competing across international titles and now securing a slot at the Pokémon World Championship 2025, S8UL continues to elevate Indian esports through high-impact global participation and consistent excellence.

Midnite mischief: UK bookmaker hands out ‘115 charges’ scarves before Manchester derby

Published

Reading Time: < 1 minute

UK sportsbook and casino Midnite were behind a marketing stunt at the Manchester derby at Old Trafford yesterday, handing out special edition scarves to help Manchester United mock neighbours Manchester City.

The scarves were specially designed to highlight every single one of the club’s 115 charges in their soon-to-be-decided court hearing.

City fans face an anxious wait to learn if they have been found guilty for breaking financial rules, and Midnite added fuel to the fire on Sunday.  The giveway is the latest activity from Midnite, which last week was announced as the official betting and casino partner of the World Snooker Championship. Midnite also launched its first TV advertising campaign in March.

The “115” Midnite scarves had United’s famous red colours as the primary colour, with the centre of the scarf featuring a bold yellow “115” representing all of City’s alleged financial charges.

The 500 scarves were taken very quickly by Man United fans, who showed an eagerness to rub the charges in City fans’ faces.

A Midnite spokesperson said: “We caused a stir ahead of the Manchester derby by handing out special edition scarves that reminded City about their 115 charges.

“We wanted to create a keepsake for fans in attendance as City fans face an anxious wait over their alleged breaking of financial rules.”
