After the abortion ban proposal has failed, Poland faces yet another period of rough protests. We should also know the EU has given Poland a period of 2 months, a period in which they should revise their laws and administration.
Recently Poland has tried to restrict the media, a measure which angered most of the people. But after a short while, this measure was canceled.
Thus, we can see a perfect example of people unity, in which the power of the people can be used in order to bring justice in a rather corrupt system. The situation though, is still uncertain, as the outcomes that will follow in the following year.
The changes that were expected to appear in Poland, were also affecting the gambling industry. This market, that hasn’t yet managed to rise (considering it’s potential) is now facing different changes.
Poland has recently aimed this industry seeking to
”improve the legal state of this industry, an industry that state officials say is controlled by “shadow gaming sectors” by up to 90%. Also, it seeks to combat the negative effects and impacts of gambling, that is addiction.”
How?
“by giving full control over the “games of chance” to “Totalizator Sportowy”, owner of the LOTTO Polish brand, and probably the most recognizable Polish company. However this measure will only include slots.”
In addition to the changes that are already beginning to appear, the officials are also expected to revise certain aspects of the Gambling Market. Changes like offering multiple game-choices to online operators, and more possibilities will be offered to all, in order to combat illegal gambling and try to minimize the huge annual losses. Most probably the Act is now being revised by the Senate.
But the voices of the people weight heavily in this satiation, as the pressure keeps on building. Time is running short, and the officials must now work in order to restore quality in the life of Polish people.
