Roger Parkes to be appointed to Betway Limited boardReading Time: 2 minutes

London, 7th June, 2018 – Roger Parkes has been announced as the new Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, a position that will see him join the Betway Limited board based in Malta.

Parkes, who gained a lifetime achievement award at least year’s Gambling Compliance Awards, joined Win Technologies, a proud member of the Betway Group in July 2015, and has served as Global Head of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs until now. He commenced his new Director’s role at Betway’s Malta office on Tuesday 5th June, and will be joining the board thereafter.

Born and educated in New Zealand, where he completed a post-graduate Diploma in Management from Auckland University of Technology, Parkes has worked in the gaming industry since 1998 holding numerous compliance roles, including two stints at the Gambling Commission.

In just under three years at Win Technologies, Parkes has overseen exponential growth of the dedicated Compliance team, as well as the way compliance is perceived group-wide.

The team have worked across the Betway Group, building a compliance-first model into marketing, management, finance, legal and responsible gambling activities. This is done alongside the development of external partnerships as well as an understanding of compliance, AML and RG in a top-down, bottom-up model.

Speaking about the move, Parkes said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working for Win Technologies in London, and now look forward to greater exposure to the wider business.

“I am hoping to foster an even greater compliance culture throughout the Betway Group and show that compliance is a key aspect of how we do business at board level.”

Anthony Werkman, CEO of Betway, said: “Roger has been a wonderful addition to the Betway Group, having truly made his mark since arriving in 2015.

He has helped make compliance a key area of focus for us and promoting him to the board at Betway Ltd. Further strengthens our abilities in this area.

“It is vitally important that as the regulatory and compliance landscape evolves for operators that we have a recognised leader in their field driving our compliance structure forward. To my mind there is no-one better placed than Roger to do that.”
