The Bucket List Destination for an Avid Gambler: Macau

“My name is Josh Wardini, the Editorial Contributor and Community Manager at CasinoSites.me.uk and I’m a digital management professional from Portland, Oregon. For years, the one place that sat at the top of my “bucket list” of must-visit destinations was Las Vegas, especially as an avid gambler who enjoys the odd weekend of bets and play. It remained that way until a friend recently visited the Vegas of Asia, Macau, and reshaped my thinking forever.

According to him, Macau was bigger, better and more serious a gambling destination than Las Vegas. In his words, it “put Vegas to shame”. My first reaction was disbelief. I grew up in America watching American media that always depicted Vegas as the gambling mecca of the world. After beginning to research the topic further, I discovered he was accurate and that Vegas, though once was the idea Macau was built on, is now a dwarf in Macau’s shadow. Macau has more casinos, bigger gambling revenue and a luxurious and more seriously refined gambling culture. I compiled and curated the data in what might just be the most in-depth look at the statistics and facts of how Las Vegas & Macau, the Las Vegas of Asia, stack up against each other. The numbers & research have changed the top destination on my bucket list to Macau, and if you’re a avid gambler, it will likely do the same for you.
