Irish lotto punters could win themselves half a billion euro this week – here’s how

A lucky Irish punter could stand to win more than half a billion euro this week in the third largest lotto draw in history.

The staggering amount is the current jackpot on offer with the PowerBall, a lottery game based in the United States.

Though technically only open to those living in America, Irish people here who are feeling lucky can bet on the outcome of the draw and win through betting company Multilotto.

The firm, which operations across Europe, offers users a chance to play the lottery draw throughout the world.

Players don’t actually enter these lotteries but instead pick the numbers they think will be drawn and bet on the outcome, with Multilotto promising to pay out the same prize money offered in those draws. The draw will happen this Thursday
