Gaming in Germany Conference 2026 publishes agenda and speaker lineup
Berlin event on November 10 spotlights State Treaty evaluation, product expansion, offshore play and a court ruling affecting GGL enforcement.
The 2026 Gaming in Germany Conference has published its full agenda and speaker lineup for Tuesday, November 10, 2026, in Berlin. The event will be held at the DoubleTree Hilton Ku'damm.
Organizers said this year’s program will focus on the outcome of the evaluation of the 2021 State Gambling Treaty, new product and market opportunities (including sweepstakes, eSports betting and online casino in NRW), industry coordination in response to offshore competition, and the possibility that Germany’s regulator may face an enforcement gap following a court decision.
One of the central issues flagged in the agenda is whether the GGL “may have forfeited its rights to enforce the prohibition against unlicensed iGaming” following what the organizer described as a “surprising court ruling” by the Halle Administrative Court.
Named speakers include Nadja Wierzejewski, Head of Enforcement at GGL, and Alexander Müller, Member of the Executive Board at FDP. Sessions also list Melanie Hainzer, Market Owner – DACH at Play 'n GO, as well as legal panels featuring Dr. Matthias Spitz (Melchers Law Firm) and Dr. Christian Rapani (Rapani Rechtsanwälte).
Gaming in Germany founder, Willem van Oort commented: “The German market is certainly not a boring one. On the one hand, there appears to be room for a significant expansion in the range of permitted products. On the other hand, a recent ruling by the Halle Administrative Court calls into question the GGL's entire legal authority to enforce the prohibition against unlicensed iGaming in Germany. With all the key players in the German market present in Berlin, this year's Gaming in Germany event will be THE place to discuss the way forward for Germany-licensed operators, suppliers, and other stakeholders. As always, our event will also focus on what the industry can do to keep the illegal market in check. In our current situation, this may be more important than ever.”
