Backseat Gaming rolls out “Trending games” slot line with Hold the Phone

Backseat Gaming has launched a new “Trending games” content line for its slot portfolio, kicking off with the release of Hold the Phone, the studio said on 27th October 2026.

According to the supplier, Trending games will focus on themes drawn from cultural moments and online trends, developed on an accelerated timeline and positioned outside Backseat Gaming’s regular content roadmap.

The first title, Hold the Phone, is a 5x5 slot featuring classic symbols in a cartoon style. Backseat Gaming said the game uses a second reel set positioned opposite the main reels that remains locked during base play, drawing inspiration from “the surging popularity of double-screen mobile devices.”

Backseat Gaming is positioning the new line as a tool for operators to run timely marketing campaigns tied to recognisable themes, and to support streamer partnerships and social content.
