PUBG MOBILE Global Open Season 2 adds TDM tiebreakers and possible 13th finals match
32 teams compete in Lahore, Pakistan from October 20–25 for a $500,000 prize pool and PMGC qualification points.
PUBG MOBILE Esports has detailed a new competitive format for the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) Season 2, which runs October 20–25 in Lahore, Pakistan. The event will feature 32 qualified teams playing for a $500,000 prize pool and a place in the points race toward the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) in Istanbul, Turkey.
According to the organizer, PMGO Season 2 is Pakistan’s first official global PUBG MOBILE Esports event. Teams qualified through nine 2026 PMGO Regional Finals across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas, following earlier open pathways including in-game Open Qualifiers, the 2026 PUBG MOBILE National Championships (PMNC), and 2026 PUBG MOBILE Club Open (PMCO) wildcard events.
The multi-stage tournament will be played across Rondo, Erangel, and Miramar. The Group Stage splits teams into two groups of 16 (Group A on October 20 and Group B on October 21) with six matches per group. The top six teams in each group advance directly to the Grand Finals, while teams placed 7th–14th move to the Survival Stage on October 22, where six matches decide the final four Grand Finals slots.
A key format addition introduces a best-of-three 4v4 Team Deathmatch (TDM) tiebreaker on Warehouse to resolve any points ties that affect qualification in the Group and Survival stages. Each TDM round is first to 15 eliminations, or most eliminations before the timer ends; if a round ends in a draw, “the team to make the last elimination will secure the win,” PUBG MOBILE Esports said.
The Grand Finals (October 24–25) will again use six matches on Day 1, while Day 2 adds a themed-map showmatch before Match 7. The showmatch winner earns the right to ban one of three map options for a potential Match 13, which only triggers if no team has already won under SMASH rules. PUBG MOBILE Esports said the Grand Finals winner secures 150 PMGC points, with points accumulated across the 2026 circuit used to determine guaranteed places at PMGC later in the year.
