ICONIC21 adds Face Down Double Down option to online blackjack games

ICONIC21 has launched Face Down Double Down, a new Blackjack feature now available in selected online tables, including 7-Seater Blackjack and Private Blackjack.

The mechanic adds a second option to the standard double decision after the initial deal. Players can choose Double Face Up, which follows the usual double action and reveals the extra card immediately, or Double Face Down, where the extra card stays hidden until the dealer completes their hand.

In both cases, the player doubles the original wager and receives a single additional card. ICONIC21 said the delayed reveal is intended to mirror a land-based practice where a doubled card may be dealt face down.

“Blackjack players already understand when and why they double,” ICONIC21 product owner team lead Andrii Savyntsev said. “Face Down Double Down doesn’t change the mathematics or the rules of the game. What it changes is the experience. By delaying the reveal, a Face Down Double turns the doubled hand into a moment of suspense that lasts until the dealer has finished."

ICONIC21 said the feature is available immediately and can be integrated by operators through existing platform connections.
