Octoplay launches in Alberta iGaming with seven operators on day one
Octoplay has launched in Alberta on the first day of the province’s regulated iGaming market, going live simultaneously with BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, Betty, Rush Street Interactive, PENN, and bet365.
The company said the seven-operator rollout is its largest coordinated market entry to date and makes it one of the first suppliers active in Canada’s newest regulated jurisdiction.
Octoplay secured a conditional Alberta license in June 2025 ahead of the market opening. The company said Alberta is now its twentieth regulated market, adding to its footprint across the United Kingdom, several US states and multiple European jurisdictions, as well as Ontario and Brazil.
Ralitsa Georgieva, CEO at Octoplay, said: "Alberta brings together tier-one partners we have built strong relationships with across other markets, including BetMGM, FanDuel, Rush Street Interactive, bet365, Betty, and DraftKings, alongside a new tier-one partnership with PENN. Having seven leading operators live on day one in a completely new region shows the trust these brands place in our content and in our ability to deliver at the pace regulated markets require."
Octoplay positions Alberta as its fourth active regulated market in North America, following Ontario (2023) and its US debut in New Jersey with BetMGM. The company also pointed to a simultaneous Michigan launch in December 2025 alongside BetMGM, FanDuel, Fanatics, and Rush Street Interactive.
