GeoLocs launches Fraud Shield fraud detection and player risk tool
mkodo’s GeoLocs adds automated player management rules to flag and act on multi-accounting, spoofing and bonus abuse.
GeoLocs by mkodo has launched Fraud Shield, a fraud detection and player risk management product aimed at regulated gaming operators. The company said the tool is designed to help identify, investigate and prevent account sharing, multi-accounting, location spoofing, bonus abuse and collusion.
GeoLocs said the product combines geolocation intelligence with fraud detection and automated player management, as operators face “increasingly sophisticated attempts” to bypass platform controls and exploit promotions. The release cites industry estimates that fraud costs the online gambling sector approximately $1 billion annually.
Built as part of the wider GeoLocs suite, Fraud Shield is designed to detect multi-accounting and account sharing, device manipulation and compromised devices, suspicious behavioural patterns, potential bonus abuse and collusion, and players using jailbroken devices.
"Fraud teams are under increasing pressure to move quickly while ensuring legitimate players aren't caught up in the process," said Will Whitehead, Commercial Director at GeoLocs. "The challenge isn't simply identifying suspicious activity. It's understanding which signals matter, prioritising risk appropriately and responding with confidence."
GeoLocs said operators can configure risk thresholds and response rules so the platform automatically applies actions based on player behaviour and fraud signals. "Not every fraud event should be treated the same way," added Owen Compton, Senior Product Manager at GeoLocs. "We built Fraud Shield to give operators the intelligence and flexibility to make better risk decisions. Whether the right action is to investigate, monitor, restrict or block, operators remain firmly in control."
