KABAN Hotel and Casino Boracay to Open on September 16

Kaban Hotel and Casino Boracay will open to guests on Sept. 16, marking the arrival of the island’s first hotel-casino destination ahead of a formal launch planned for October.

The property, situated at Station 0 in Barangay Yapak, is part of a broader 23-hectare master-planned development by Golden TW Realty and Development Corp.

Designed as a six-storey complex, Kaban combines hospitality, gaming and dining, positioning itself as an anchor for inland commercial expansion on the resort island.

The facility houses 88 guest rooms, ranging from boutique options to a presidential suite. Its gaming operations feature a 2000-square-meter floor licensed by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., equipped with table games, slot machines and electronic gaming stations.

“Kaban is more than a destination. It is our promise to bring world-class entertainment and heartfelt Filipino hospitality together, creating a place where culture, leisure, and celebration come together,” said Kevin Wong, president and chief executive officer of Kaban.

Beyond gaming, the resort offers seven specialty dining options, headlined by Lamii All-Day Dining. Additional amenities include the Sigla Spa, an outdoor pool deck, a VIP lounge, a dedicated children's play area, a lobby café and a rooftop bar.

The development sits within Golden TW’s long-term plan to turn Station 0 into a commercial and leisure hub away from the island’s traditional beachfront strip. The developer is also constructing Boracay Central, a lifestyle shopping mall scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Local hiring has been incorporated into the project’s rollout, with the company stating that about 40% of Kaban’s initial workforce is drawn from the surrounding province of Aklan.

The brand name, derived from the Tagalog word for “treasure chest,” is framed around themes of discovery, complemented by a five-card star emblem.

Promotional events launching alongside the Sept. 16 soft opening will include prize giveaways valued in the millions of pesos. Gaming access will strictly follow regulations set by Philippine authorities, capping entry at guests aged 21 and above.

A larger ceremony showcasing cultural and entertainment programming is planned for October to officially mark the complex’s full entry into Boracay’s hospitality market.
