World Jai Alai League opens Season X in Miami after Rob Gough acquisition
Centennial season starts September 15 at JAM Arena with a refreshed league identity and new JaiAlai.com hub.
The World Jai Alai League will open its 2026 fall season on September 15 at Miami’s JAM Arena, kicking off a centennial season marking 100 years since professional Jai Alai arrived in Miami. The start of Season X also marks the first season since entrepreneur and sports asset investor Rob Gough acquired the league in August 2026.
World Jai Alai League said it will keep the existing Battle Court competition and operating format, with Chief Operating Officer Scott Savin overseeing Season X. The company said Gough and his team will spend the coming months gathering input from players and fans and evaluating options across presentation, live experience, media, marketing and commercial strategy, with broader changes planned for 2027.
“This is a really unique moment for Jai Alai,” said Rob Gough, Owner of the World Jai Alai League. “We have a sport with more than 100 years of history in Miami, extraordinary athletes and incredible speed, but I also believe there is enormous untapped potential.”
Alongside the season launch, the league unveiled a refreshed identity and launched JaiAlai.com, which it described as a consolidated hub for schedule, teams, players, standings, results, ticketing, broadcast information and wagering content. Season X includes six franchises and 45 gamedays at JAM Arena running from September 15 through December 1.
Matches will be streamed live and free via the Jai Alai Network on YouTube, with additional coverage available on ESPN+ and Fubo, according to the league. World Jai Alai League also said regulated sports wagering will continue across 25 states, as well as Ontario and Mexico, with its matches listed as approved wagering markets on DraftKings, FanDuel, Hard Rock Bet and BetRivers, subject to local availability and regulations.
