Gaming in Germany Conference publishes initial 2026 agenda

The Gaming in Germany Conference has published the initial agenda for its 2026 edition, scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at the DoubleTree Hilton Ku'damm in Berlin.

According to the organisers, this year’s programme is built around the ongoing evaluation of the 2021 State Gambling Treaty (GlüStV 2021), approaches to countering offshore offerings, and the permissibility of new product categories including prediction betting, sweepstakes, and eSports betting. The agenda also flags state-level online casino (table game) licensing developments in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Bavaria, Schleswig-Holstein, and Baden-Württemberg, alongside sessions on Austria’s market re-regulation and the future of remaining gambling monopolies in Germany and Austria.

Gaming in Germany founder, Willem van Oort commented: “These are all topics that are highly relevant for running a successful iGaming business in Germany. The possibility of being able to offer new products is always exciting and the opening of Austria's regulated online casino market will bring fresh opportunities to operators that are already active in German-speaking areas. There will be a lot of new and essential information for everyone.”

The initial speaker line-up includes a keynote from a “Senior GGL representative,” plus contributions from Dr. Joerg Hofmann (Senior Partner, Melchers Law Firm), Dr. Dirk Quermann (President, Deutscher Online Casinoverband), and Mathias Dahms (President, Deutscher Sportwettenverband). A black market-focused block includes Alexander Müller (Member of the Executive Board, FDP), Vasiliki Panousi (Regulatory Affairs Senior Manager, Kaizen), Christian Heins (Founder, European Gambling Gathering), and Thore Sieck (VP Global Sales, Adyen).

Additional sessions cover licensing and B2B opportunities tied to online casino in NRW (Dr. Carsten Bringmann, Associate Partner, Noerr), EU law and state monopolies (Prof. Dr. Christian Piska, University of Vienna), re-licensing outlooks for 2027 and beyond (Dr. Damir Boehm, CEO, Tipwin), and the practical impact of the EU’s new AML/CFT regulation (Jochen Biewer, Managing Director, Chevron Group). The programme also includes market data presentations from Josh Hodgson (COO, H2 Gambling Capital) and Jeffrey Haas (Chair, Blask Business Intelligence).
