Lottomatica Achieves ISO 37301 Certification for Integrated Compliance for the First Time
Lottomatica Group has further strengthened its governance system by reaching two important compliance milestones: obtaining, for the first time, UNI ISO 37301:2021 certification for its Compliance Management Systems and completing the transition to UNI ISO 37001:2025 for its Anti-Corruption Management System, already certified since 2022.
Both Management Systems have been certified by RINA; furthermore, UNI ISO 37301:2021 was obtained under ACCREDIA accreditation, further guaranteeing the Compliance Management System’s compliance with the relevant international standards. The scope involved the Parent Company and the concessionaire companies operating in the retail, online and gaming segments.
What does UNI ISO 37301:2021 certification entail?
Certification to the UNI ISO 37301:2021 standard certifies an organisation’s ability to manage regulatory (mandatory and voluntary), contractual and sector-specific obligations in a structured and systematic manner, integrating them within a single compliance management system. Certification is the result of a process of integrating the various compliance areas and corporate controls into a single framework, aimed at ensuring methodological uniformity, a cross-cutting view of regulatory exposure, and strengthening governance, control and decision-making support processes.
The project is part of a broader process of evolution and integration of the Group’s compliance controls. The initiative, launched in September 2025, was strongly supported by Francesco Lauria, Chief Risk, Ethics & Compliance Officer and Anti-bribery & Corruption Officer, who stated: “I am particularly proud of this important milestone, which demonstrates Lottomatica’s ongoing commitment to pursuing excellence and strengthening the effectiveness of its governance, risk management, and compliance systems. This result also represents a further step forward in the Group’s growth, consolidation, and continuous improvement.”
Obtaining the UNI ISO 37301:2021 certification places the Lottomatica Group among the few companies in the FTSE MIB index to have achieved this recognition. This achievement takes on even greater significance considering that Lottomatica is the first operator in the gaming sector in Italy to obtain this certification, at the same time as completing the transition process to UNI ISO 37001:2025.
The audit conducted by RINA covered all compliance areas and company processes involved in the Compliance Management System. The audits were aimed at verifying not only the correct application of the internal regulatory framework, but also the level of compliance with the obligations set forth in the reference standards, the effectiveness of the control system, and the degree of integration of compliance measures into the Group’s governance processes and operational activities. The UNI ISO 37301:2021 and UNI ISO 37001:2025 certifications strengthen Lottomatica’s commitment to governance, sustainability and responsible business management.
