DuelBits report models Nordic crypto casino players at $50k+ over 20 years

Crypto casino operator DuelBits has published a new analysis modelling the long-term value of online gambling players across 10 priority markets, with Nordic countries leading its projections. Under the report’s base-case scenario, the company estimates 20-year cumulative player value at $56,224 in Sweden, $54,057 in Norway and $49,710 in Finland.

DuelBits said Sweden also leads on current annual value per player in its model at $1,640, followed by Norway ($1,550) and Finland ($1,450). By Year 20, the projected annual value per player rises to $3,870 in Sweden, $3,737 in Norway and $3,422 in Finland. The company noted the figures are modelled rather than observed customer lifetime value, using industry web traffic data to project annual value.

Outside the Nordics, the report highlights wide variance by geography. Japan is modelled at $900 in current annual value per player, rising to $2,216 by Year 20 and a 20-year cumulative value of $31,930. The United States is modelled at $600 today, reaching $1,541 by Year 20 and $22,028 cumulatively; Canada is modelled from $550 to $1,354 and $19,513 cumulatively. At the low end, Costa Rica is modelled at $220 current annual value and $7,363 over 20 years.

DuelBits also compared the player-value model with search demand for “crypto casino” using Ahrefs data as a proxy for category interest. Germany recorded the highest monthly search volume at approximately 53,000, ahead of the United States (17,000) and Canada (4,100). DuelBits said the two indicators did not align consistently, pointing to Germany’s modelled current annual player value of $450 versus Sweden’s $1,640.

Jasper Hoekert, Chief Executive Officer at DuelBits, said: "The headline takeaway from this analysis is that player value isn't evenly distributed across global gambling markets. An operator can be looking at the same acquisition strategy through very different economic lenses depending on where those players are coming from.

"The Nordic markets are particularly interesting because they combine high levels of online gambling participation with some of the highest projected player values in our analysis. At the same time, markets such as Germany demonstrate that strong interest in crypto gambling doesn't automatically translate into the highest player economics.

"For crypto operators, the opportunity isn't simply about finding the biggest audience. It's about understanding where demand, player behaviour and long-term value intersect, and using that information to make smarter decisions about localisation and acquisition."
