Warren Greatrex signs on as Fairplay ambassador for 2026/27 Jumps season

Warren Greatrex has joined Fairplay as an ambassador for the upcoming 2026/27 Jumps season, with the trainer set to provide regular blogs and video updates from his Lambourn yard throughout the campaign.

Greatrex, a multiple Grade 1-winning National Hunt trainer, is known for horses including Cole Harden and La Bague Au Roi. In the announcement, he said: "Fairplay is a really good concept, and I was really taken by it. As soon as I met Billy, I thought 'wow!', I just love his enthusiasm. I'm very excited!"

Greatrex added that the partnership will focus on stable access and behind-the-scenes content, saying: "I think from our side, the partnership will allow us to showcase the yard, and through regular blogs and content we can show exactly what we do, from riding out, showing people how to swim horses and treadmilling. We've got an excellent young team here and I'm really pleased that with Fairplay we can showcase this."

Bill Gowing, founder and managing director at Fairplay, said the company is increasing its investment in British racing amid broader pressures on the sport. "There's no hiding from the fact that British racing is facing a challenging period. Rising costs, increased regulation and changing market conditions mean it's more important than ever that businesses with a genuine passion for the sport continue to invest in it," Gowing said.

Fairplay said it began as a social peer-to-peer betting platform in 2023, with sportsbook Fairplay Bet launching after it was awarded a sportsbook licence. The company also said it will have an on-course presence at Glorious Goodwood for the first time this year and plans to acquire a Cheltenham pitch and a Newbury National Hunt pitch for the 2026/27 season.
