Midnite publishes ‘Built Different Index’ ranking all 92 Premier League and EFL clubs

Midnite has published its “Built Different Index,” a ranking of all 92 clubs across the Premier League and the English Football League (Championship, League One and League Two), based on nine metrics it said look beyond trophies and league position.

The UK betting operator said the index uses categories including shortest and longest away trips, total distance travelled, average home capacity utilisation, average attendance as a percentage of local population, average squad age, average windspeed, average rainfall versus win percentage, and managerial sackings over the past five seasons.

Midnite highlighted several category leaders from its dataset. It said Cardiff City has the shortest away trip (104 miles to Reading), while Bournemouth and Newcastle share the longest away trip, with the two stadiums 355 miles apart. Midnite also said Plymouth Argyle supporters travelled the most in “2025/26,” totalling 5,400 miles for one-way trips and 10,800 miles for round trips.

On attendance and squad measures, Midnite said West Ham United averaged 99.80% home capacity utilisation over the last five seasons, while Brighton & Hove Albion recorded the highest average attendance as a share of local authority population last season (31.50%). Peterborough United was cited as having the youngest average squad age over the past five seasons at 23.5, and Midnite said the club’s oldest squad in that span was still the youngest, averaging 24.1 in 2021/22.

For weather and managerial stability, Midnite said Barrow has the highest average wind speed (14.9 mph), and Manchester City posted a 78% win percentage in relation to average rainfall during games (867mm). Midnite also listed Arsenal, Wrexham, Mansfield Town, Harrogate Town, Bromley and Barnet as having the fewest managerial sackings in the last five seasons, with the same manager in place since 2020/21.

Andrew Mook, Midnite’s Head of Brand Marketing, said: “We decided to create the ‘Built Different Index’ to highlight how committed and loyal fans across the country actually are and the immense role they play in the success of their clubs. While the index does factor wins, it majorly explores the key behavioural categories of fans to showcase what sacrifices they make every week.

“While of course, the position in respective leagues is what matters most with every fan wanting to win silverware and build their reputation. We feel this index gives fans the chance to take pride in their support, even though their team might not be running away with trophies every year. At Midnite, we always put fans first and this is our way of giving back to all 92 fanbases across Britain.”
