Global Gaming Solutions launches internal audit service, hires ex-IOM GSC inspector

Global Gaming Solutions has launched a new Internal Audit and Assurance service for regulated iGaming firms and appointed Hannah McCune as Head of Internal Audit and Assurance, the company said in a press release.

McCune previously worked at the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (IOM GSC) as an Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Counter Terrorist-Financing (CTF) Inspector, and earlier spent more than seven years in the private sector providing compliance support to licence holders in multiple jurisdictions, according to the company.

Global Gaming Solutions said the service is intended to help operators identify and remediate compliance gaps amid tighter regulation and increased enforcement activity. The company said the offering includes reviews of policies against applicable regulatory requirements, testing of whether procedures are followed in practice using player data sampling, evaluations of control design and effectiveness, mock inspections, board-ready reporting, remediation support, and ongoing support for ad-hoc compliance queries.

The company cited recent enforcement developments in the Isle of Man, the UK and Malta as part of the broader regulatory backdrop. It pointed to the IOM GSC’s largest civil penalty in 2025 of £5.6 million discounted by 30% to £3.9 million, and said the regulator has announced the Gambling (Civil Penalties) Regulations 2026, which would allow civil penalties of up to £50,000 for individuals in key roles such as directors, senior management, the MLRO and AML/CFT Compliance Officer. It also noted the UK Gambling Commission’s introduction in October 2025 of percentage-based penalties tied to gross gaming yield, and said the Malta Gaming Authority issued its highest total of issued penalties since 2021 in 2025.

Mark O’Neill, Managing Director of Global Gaming Solutions, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Hannah to the team and offer a practical solution that helps operators manage their compliance issues with real-world regulatory experience and practical, ongoing support.” He added: “The service embodies our view as a business that independent assurance is no longer good governance; it is an essential safeguard for protecting licenses, reputation, and long-term success.”

McCune said: “I’m very excited to be working alongside such a talented group of professionals at Global Gaming Solutions. The business is well established in the sector, and I’m pleased we’re able to meet the ongoing demand of our clients.” She added: “My experience at the Gambling Supervision Commission has reaffirmed the importance of taking a proactive approach to compliance and has given me the tools to offer a framework that is comprehensive but practical. I believe the new Internal Audit and Assurance service stands alone in being able to offer a regulatory perspective and ongoing practical support for clients.”
