BGaming Releases ART Collab Slot Yokai Together with Gonçalo MAR

Rapidly expanding content provider joins forces with popular Portuguese street artist for its first slot in the series

Popular iGaming content provider BGaming has announced the release of Yokai, the debut title in its new ART Collab series, developed in partnership with one of Portugal’s most influential street artists, Gonçalo MAR.

ART Collab is an ongoing collection of titles created together with street artists from around the world. Each title will see the studio work alongside a different artist, helping them bring their individual art styles to life on the reels. Yokai marks BGaming’s third collaboration with Portuguese street artist Gonçalo MAR, following two previous projects, and this is the first time the partnership has evolved into a full game.

The partnership started when BGaming first encountered the artist’s work at an exhibition in Lisbon. Since then, they have worked together on various projects, with MAR’s work recently auctioned off as part of BGaming’s Charity Gala in aid of DAR Bjorn.

The reels have become a digital canvas for Gonçalo MAR’s creativity. The design, artwork, and story were created by the artist and brought to life with the help of the BGaming Team. The slot features various nods to the artist’s portfolio, including the appearance of his iconic ‘Turista’, a finger-fish image that inspired the game concept, as a symbol on the game grid and the head of the main character.

In Yokai, players join a mysterious Samurai on the edge of an ancient Japanese forest in the shadow of Mount Fuji. The Samurai stands guard alongside the Yokai, the fortune-bearing spirits of the woods, and watches patiently at the side of the reels, bursting to life at various points during the game, slicing the reels and triggering the bonus round. The Yokai spirits appear and vanish across the board during idle moments, giving the slot’s world a life of its own, and making it the perfect title for live-streaming sessions.

On the gameplay side, Yokai is just as creative, featuring two types of Wilds, cumulative multipliers, and a Free Spins bonus round, which keeps players on the edge of their seats by serving up a random number of spins each time. It also boasts strong winning potential, with a maximum win of x8,000 and a 97% RTP.

Like many other BGaming releases, the slot offers two Buy options. Buy Chance allows players to double the likelihood of triggering the bonus at a slightly higher stake, while the Buy Bonus allows players to access Free Spins immediately.

Ruslan Shakhlovich, Game Designer at BGaming, said, “Yokai is the first game in our ART Collab series, and it perfectly sets the tone for what we want the collection to be. It represents a genuine creative partnership, and you can experience Gonçalo MAR’s touch and vision throughout the slot.

Outside of the visual appeal, the game also delivers engaging gameplay and great winning potential. We are excited about the start of this new series, and we believe that Yokai is the beginning of something very special for BGaming and iGaming in general.”
