Kongebonus announces David Nilsen as new Editor-in-Chief

Kongebonus, Norway’s premier source for iGaming news and information on casinos and betting, has named David Nilsen as Editor-in-Chief as the platform strives to enhance player-centric, investigative content.

Nilsen assumes the position after several years of contributing behind the scenes at Kongebonus, where he has been instrumental in developing the platform’s editorial structure. In addition to his role as Senior Casino Writer, he has experience in customer-facing positions at Kindred Group PLC and Betsson Group, providing him with direct insight into player behavior and operational processes.

In addition to his operational and editorial experience, Nilsen has performed extensive strategic research for leading newspapers in Norway and abroad, especially concerning new gambling laws and regulatory changes. Drawing on years of examining game providers, mechanics, and player reactions, his profile connects intricate regulation with actual player experience.

In his new position, Nilsen will guide Kongebonus’ editorial approach with a distinct goal to enhance the professionalism of the platform’s content and methods. A primary focus will be enhancing the site’s manual testing framework, guaranteeing that each evaluation accurately represents the true experience of a Norwegian player using the platform in real time.

David Nilsen, Editor-in-Chief at Kongebonus, said: “I’m incredibly proud to step into the Editor-in-Chief role at Kongebonus at such an important time for the industry. My focus is on building on the strong work already in place and continuing to raise the standard for independent, high-quality iGaming coverage in Norway.”

Nilsen will leverage his research expertise to keep Kongebonus informed about regulatory changes, assisting players in grasping how shifts in laws might influence their experience. Simultaneously, he intends to conduct more in-depth investigations of operators and game suppliers, focusing beyond promotional claims to evaluate product integrity, fairness, and sustainable player benefits.

A spokeperson for Kongebonus, said: “David has been central to building the quality and credibility of Kongebonus behind the scenes. His mix of research expertise, industry knowledge and genuine player focus makes him the ideal person to lead our editorial direction. As the Norwegian market continues to evolve, his leadership will help ensure we remain a trusted, independent voice for players.”
