EXCO set to kickstart 2026 with stellar launch following debut slot successes

EXCO Game Studio, the independent, player-first slot studio, heads to ICE Barcelona having already made its mark with a growing portfolio of original, branded content built around one simple rule – ‘we only ship what we’d play’.

Since launching in 2025, EXCO has gained early traction with its debut title VEGASCALINE, followed by end-of-year hit The Robbin’ Goblins, which quickly generated strong visibility across leading review sites and positive feedback from players. The response has validated the studio’s decision to prioritise originality, branded mechanics and creative risk over volume-driven releases.

At ICE Barcelona, EXCO will host an exclusive networking event in partnership with Tequity on January 20th, while offering partners and media a first look at the studio’s expanding portfolio.

Alongside its live titles, EXCO will present an early prototype preview of LUNAX, giving attendees a sneak peek at how the provider continues to evolve its design approach and mechanical ambition.

Rather than chasing rapid output, EXCO focuses on delivering fewer, higher-quality releases, each built from scratch with a clear identity and purpose. Every game is powered by GAMEX, EXCO’s proprietary branded-mechanics system, designed to make gameplay instantly recognisable, memorable, and built for watchability.

The studio has already partnered with a growing number of operators globally, particularly innovative brands looking to differentiate their offering through original content and stronger player engagement.

Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at EXCO, said: “Let’s be honest, the industry has spent too long recycling the same ideas. We started EXCO because we wanted to build games with personality again. If we wouldn’t play it ourselves, it doesn’t ship. The reception to VEGASCALINE and The Robbin’ Goblins has shown us that players are ready for something sharper, bolder, and more honest.

“ICE is a great opportunity to show partners what we’ve already achieved and give them a taste of what’s coming next. We’re building this studio carefully, game by game, and 2026 is about doubling down on quality rather than chasing noise.”

EXCO is driven by a core philosophy of game development shaped by player interests and emerging industry trends, with a goal of breaking the volume-driven approach by focusing on quality instead.
