QTech Games expands its Tech Hub premises after strong start in Malaga

Emerging-markets aggregator quick to grow its recently founded offices and local staff in flourishing Spanish hub at the crossroads to Africa and Europe

QTech Games, the leading game aggregator across all emerging markets, is expanding its existing premises and adding further personnel to its recently founded Tech Hub in Malaga on the south coast of Spain. The company is now looking to grow its current headcount to over 30 employees on the Costa del Sol with the addition of 17 new positions.

Having already established two key operational units in Q4 2024 – firstly, a Connect Team to facilitate supplier integrations; then a QT Hybrid Team to support its in-demand retail solution – these new roles will also inform a dedicated Platform Team, driving software development and bolstering QTech’s services for its European and African partners. The positions include but are not limited to:

  • 3 Team Leads

  • 2 Full Stack (Laravel)

  • 4 Backend (Java)

  • 1 Frontend (React)

  • 2 QA

  • 1 Infra/SRE/DevOps

  • 2 Tech Support

  • 1 HR Business Partner

  • 1 Graphical Designer

QTech Games’ CEO, Philip Doftvik, said: “Towards the end of 2024, we set up the Tech Hub. Its initial aim was to focus on client requests for our QTech Hybrid product, and we’ve really hit the ground running, winning multiple Africa-facing awards for innovation and going live with multiple clients in our pilot scheme rollout. Now, thanks to some fabulous recruitment partners at ESR Talent and our team’s initial gains, I’m pleased to say we’ve been forced into moving offices into a bigger unit, as we crew up from 12 to 30 staff with the addition of this exciting Platform Team!

“It’s an extension of QTech’s ‘plan global, act local’ philosophy, selecting Spain and Malaga as the site for our flourishing tech hub precisely because of its unique place at the intersection of Europe and Africa, alongside its natural linguistic and thematic gateway to LatAm. This Malaga hub has already brought even greater capacity to QTech Games’ tech organisation.”

While this early success story has emboldened the aggregator to continue building a strong tech hub for the group in Spain, it is also investing in putting more boots on the ground in Malta, another well-placed igaming nerve centre from which to serve multiple continents.

Doftvik added: “This physical growth strategy enables QTech Games to scale up our tech org more quickly and ensure it remains ahead of any innovative trends or requirements in technology. Malaga and Malta consistently chart among Europe’s most safe and desirable cities in which to live. Introducing GAMEPOP: The Culture of Play, a new premium bookazine by Red Bull Media House and the world’s first magazine dedicated entirely to video-game culture. GAMEPOP will debut at the Red Bull Tetris World Final in Dubai from December 11 to 13, followed by The Game Awards on December 11. The issue also includes interactive elements, including a bespoke Choose Your Own Adventure story created exclusively for the launch. A limited collector edition of 150 copies takes the concept a step further, featuring a fully functioning Tetris® device embedded directly into the cover – an industry first that turns the magazine into an object of play.
