BharatBox, an India focused metaverse venture between The Sandbox and Brinc, today announced a significant partnership with Dimo Studios, a company well-known for its cutting-edge innovations in the Web3 IP space. This collaboration aims to enhance brands, celebrities, and sports personalities engage with their audiences and open new revenue streams for these companies across India and the globe.

India has emerged as the largest supplier of content creators for The Sandbox, a leading metaverse platform, with over 66,000 developers contributing to the platform, surpassing the U.S. and Brazil. Following this, BharatBox aims to reach 1 million users in India within two years, with successful ventures into the entertainment, web3, and gaming sector.

Dimo Studio, known for its pioneering role in Web3 innovations, manages over 20 intellectual properties (IPs) and is actively expanding its portfolio. Through this partnership, Dimo Studio and BharatBox plan to bring mutually selected IPs into their collaborative arrangement, creating a powerful synergy that leverages BharatBox’s deep market expertise in India and Dimo Studio’s technological leadership.

The metaverse, a concept nearly a century in the making and a term coined three decades ago, has shifted from science fiction to a tangible, transformative opportunity. User-generated, 3D multiplayer environments have rapidly evolved into a cultural phenomenon, where user-generated content and immersive experiences now dominate.

“The pandemic accelerated the world’s migration to these digital realms, forever changing how we interact with technology. As people sought new ways to connect, the metaverse emerged as a beacon of opportunity. Our partnership with Dimo Studios will allow us to harness this momentum, integrating the power of Web3 to create richer, more engaging experiences for brands and their audiences.” stated Karan Keswani, CEO of BharatBox.

The landscape of the metaverse has evolved significantly since 2021. The integration of AI, advancements in computer graphics, the rise of XR devices, and the ongoing development of blockchain and Web3 technologies all signal that the metaverse is far from a passing phase. Instead, it represents a critical evolution of the Internet—a three-dimensional, immersive network of virtual worlds that will redefine how we live, work, and play. Despite some skepticism from the media and investors, the metaverse remains a key focus for industry leaders. Notably, the number of filings mentioning the metaverse with the US Securities and Exchange Commission has increased, underscoring its growing importance in corporate strategy.

As Bhavesh Thakkar, Co-founder and CEO of Dimo Studio, stated on the occasion that, “The metaverse is not just a buzzword; it is the next iteration of the Internet—a 3D version that is more immersive, interactive, and integrated than anything we’ve seen before. Our partnership with BharatBox positions us at the forefront of this transformation, ready to lead brands and IPs into this new digital frontier.”

By combining BharatBox’s extensive market expertise in India with Dimo Studio’s technological leadership and an elaborate IP list, this partnership will deliver robust Web3 solutions that enable brands to transition seamlessly into the metaverse. This includes the development of NFTs, metaverse experiences, and digital gaming rights—all tailored to enhance brand engagement and unlock new revenue streams.

BharatBox and Dimo are committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible, continuously innovating to stay ahead of the curve. This partnership is about more than just the present; it is about shaping the future of digital engagement.

The Danish Gambling Authority has called attention to FATF’s (Financial Action Task Force) updated lists of high-risk jurisdictions: the Grey List (jurisdictions under increased monitoring) and Black List (call for actions). Among other things, gambling operators must include FATF’s lists of high-risk jurisdictions when assessing players’ risk.

Jurisdictions listed on the Grey List are Algeria, Angola, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Ivory Coast, Croatia, DR Congo, Haiti, Kenya, Laos, Lebanon, Mali, Monaco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, South Africa, South Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Venezuela, Vietnam and Yemen.

Jurisdictions listed on the Black List are Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Iran and Myanmar

Gambling operators are required to conduct enhanced customer due diligence (EDD) pursuant to section 17(1) of the Danish AML Act, if a player is assessed to impose a higher risk of the gambling operator being misused for money laundering or terrorist financing.

Gambling operators shall conduct this risk assessment based on Annex 3 to the AML Act (high-risk factors) which includes the FATF high-risk country lists (the so called black list and grey list)

It is not required that gambling operators perform EDD if a country is listed on the FATF’s list. EDD are only a requirement for players from jurisdictions listed in the EU Regulation of High Risk Third Country list pursuant to. 17(2) of the AML Act.
