Skyesports, a premier global IP and community builder for gaming and esports, has unveiled the venue for the anticipated Skyesports Championship 2024, a $300,000 Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament. The event, featuring 12 teams, is set to happen at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai, India from July 23 to 28.

Commenting on the tournament, Shiva Nandy, Founder and CEO of Skyesports, said, “We are thrilled to welcome international teams to India for the $300,000 Skyesports Championship. This event, at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai, is among the most significant ones of our 2024 Counter-Strike esports roadmap. As we position Skyesports’ IPs for new audiences, this tournament is a crucial milestone for our long-term plans in the game. Our vision of bringing international teams to India to participate in our IPs is coming true, and we are setting a platform to establish India as a global hub for esports. This is a pivotal moment in putting India on the global esports map.”

The Skyesports Championship will happen across two stages: the Group Stage and the Playoffs. The Group Stage will take place from July 23 to 25 with the 12 teams split into two groups of six teams each. Each group will compete in a single round-robin format with the top three teams advancing to the Playoffs. The group stage will adopt a “semi-LAN” format where the teams will be competing from remotely set-up bootcamps at the Taj Lands End.

The Skyesports Championship 2024 Playoffs will move to the main stage at the Taj Lands End, where the six teams will battle it out in a single-elimination bracket for the title of champions on July 27 and 28. Additionally, there will be a lot of surprises set for fans in the Skyesports Championship 2024.

The complete list of teams is as follows:

● Aurora Gaming
● AMKAL Esports
● BetBoom Team
● Bleed Esports
● DMS
● ENCE
● Eternal Fire
● Parivision
● Revenant Esports
● The MongolZ
● 3DMAX
● True Rippers Esports

Aurora Esports, the Serbian champions of the previous international Skyesports events—the $350,000 Skyesports Masters 2024 and the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 in Pune, India—are once again traveling to the country, aiming for the throne. Joining them are Turkey’s Eternal Fire, Mongolia’s The Mongolz, and formidable European teams such as ENCE, Bleed Esports, and Revenant Esports.

Additionally, open qualifiers for Europe and India were held, granting two direct slots for the Skyesports Championship 2024 Main Event. True Rippers will be representing India, while 3DMAX have secured the European qualification for the event.

Fans can catch all the action live on the Skyesports YouTube and Twitch channels. The tournament will be broadcasted in several languages, including English, Hindi, Russian, Portugal, and Mongolian – a testament to the global nature of the Skyesports Championship IP.

The Skyesports Championship is India’s longest-running homegrown esports IP. The tournament was introduced in 2018 as a regional competition for South India. Since then, it has grown manifolds year-over-year to become one of the most prominent esports events in the 2024 calendar.

The agreement includes significant PlayOJO Bingo brand visibility in the format of idents around the Sunday peak-time show. Hosted by Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern, Dancing on Ice challenges celebrities and their professional ice skater partners to learn and perform ice-skating dance routines in front of a panel of judges and live studio audience.

The new season slid onto UK TV screens on 12th January. Celebrities hoping to achieve skating success this year include Olympic rowing legend Sir Steve Redgrave, Love Island star Chris Taylor,  TOWIE’s Dan Edgar and Ferne McCann, former footballer Anton Ferdinand, Coronation Street‘s Sam Aston,  EastEnders star Charlie Brooks and Hollyoaks’ Chelsee Healey; as well as former English football player Anton Ferdinand, comedian Josh Jones, Coronation Street’s Sam Aston, and presenter Michaela Strachan.

The deal includes 120 seconds of on-air brand accreditation via sponsorship idents featuring the PlayOJO Bingo ‘Sounds Like OJO Time’ creative platform and the brand’s iconic three-note sonic logo. There will also be 10 seconds of idents around free programme-streaming content on the ITVX website, ITV’s streaming service, and the STV Player website and mobile app.

Meanwhile, PlayOJO Bingo will have the rights to use the Dancing On Ice show logo, design assets and format across its website, app and social channels and in competitions targeting consumers, trade and employees, as well as certain other marketing communications.

Peter Bennett, CMO at PlayOJO said Dancing on Ice and the SkillOnNet-powered PlayOJO are perfect dance partners.

“PlayOJO Bingo is all about creating a vibrant and entertaining environment where players can challenge themselves and have fun whether they win or lose, just like the celebrities on Dancing on Ice. It’s about building exciting and memorable experiences, whether that be through the thrill of casino games or gliding across the ice.”
