SKY BETTING AND GAMING RENEWS FOOTBALL CONTENT PARTNERSHIP WITH SPOTLIGHT SPORTS GROUP AHEAD OF THE NEW SEASON
Spotlight Sports Group (SSG), a world-leading technology, content, and media company specialising in sports betting, has announced that it has built a fully managed football content hub for Sky Betting and Gaming to support the annual Fan Hope survey.
This partnership follows a successful execution of last year’s content hub and will see improvements across the board to enhance the user experience. This year’s site is all about giving fans the opportunity to have their say on their favourite football team. Users will have the chance to agree or disagree with the most pressing and topical football stories.
A key new feature available in this year’s content hub is the ability for users to select league winners across the EPL and EFL. Users can then add their selections directly to a betslip and share a personalised graphic on Twitter.
The content hub will be delivered in two phases with the first phase going live in mid-July and the second due to go live after the first international break of the season. This was done to keep the content and user experience fresh throughout the season.
Discussing the new agreement, Spotlight Sports Group’s Head of UK and Ireland B2B sales, Daniel Smith said: “I’m delighted that Sky Betting and Gaming has once again trusted our team to bring their annual Fan Hope survey to life through our industry-leading content hubs. Last year’s edition was the first of its kind and I’m delighted to say that this year’s version has taken a gigantic step forward. We are confident that this is the best hub we’ve delivered so far and can’t wait to see how the Sky Betting and Gaming audience enjoys it.
Barney Wilcock, Senior Content Strategy Manager from Sky Betting and Gaming added: “Last year’s hub enabled us to effectively retain our audience for the start of the new football season and into the crucial World Cup year and we’re expecting that to continue into the 23/24 season. We know our users love interacting with the content hub and SSG has yet again gone above and beyond to deliver an excellent customer experience.”
Spotlight Sports Group’s content hubs are proven to drive revenues with a rich content experience for betting audiences. To learn more about the content hubs visit: https://www.spotlightsportsgroup .com/content-hubs/

Joona “Serral” Sotala Secures the StarCraft II at the 2025 Esports World Cup Crown Following a Dominant Display
Joona “Serral” Sotala has been crowned the StarCraft II at 2025 Esports World Cup champion, following a 5-2 victory over Virtus.Pro’s Doh-Woo “Classic” Kim in a dominant Best-of-Nine series.
After a tough result in 2024, Serral returned stronger to take the title. With his 2024 rival Clement “Clem” Desplanches exiting earlier in the event, Serral entered the final as the clear favourite following a flawless 4-0 fight in his semi final bout.
While Serral was expected to perform well, the level of control and dominance across the series caught many off guard. Serral started strong, claiming the first two maps of the series, with Classic able to fight back to claim two games. With the scores at 3-2, however, Serral was able to push on to claim the final two maps and secure the series win.
This victory in StarCraft II at EWC 25, confirmed his place as one of the greatest players in the game’s history. En route to the final, Serral remained unbeaten, dropping only two maps across the entire event. This also marks his third world championship title – he won his first world championship at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice in 2022 and successfully defended that crown in 2024.
“To be honest, after a 2-0 start, I was extremely confident. A couple of hiccups did not bother me too much,” said Joona “Serral” Sotala. “It feels absolutely fantastic, this is what I came for, and this is what I got. It’s the best feeling in the world.”
Joona “Serral” Sotal earns 1000 Club Championship points for BASILISK with his victory. The win moves BASILISK up to joint eighth place as Serral manages to secure the side their first points of the Esports World Cup 2025.
