Aston Villa Enters into Partnership with BK8
Aston Villa has agreed a multi-year partnership with BK8, which sees the brand join as the new Principal and Front of Shirt Partner.
The organisation, who have signed a three-year deal with the Club, will have branding featured on the front of Villa’s three shirts until the end of the 2025/26 season and have committed to giving back to charity with this latest announcement.
The club’s third kit, which will be unveiled later in the summer, will see BK8 make a contribution per adult third shirt sold, to a local charity in Birmingham. The move comes off the back of BK8’s previous work over the past two years, working with charities and programmes involving mental health awareness and this initiative is the first of what will be a number of collaborations with the Club.
Speaking about the rationale behind their charitable aims, BK8 EMEA Managing Director Michael Gatt said: “We are really delighted to be able to announce our support for local charities as part of our exciting new partnership with Aston Villa. Being able to give something back to the supporters for their dedication is a hugely significant part of the reason we want to be involved with a prestigious institution, which is what Aston Villa Football Club are.
“As a brand working in football for the last few years, we have committed to working closely with our partners’ local community initiatives and ensure we continue our commitment to delivering on our ambitions in this area.
“Over the next three years of this deal we will work tirelessly to make an impact in this area with a number of programmes across the region that engage with Villa supporters locally but also on a global scale.”
An Aston Villa spokesperson said: “Through this partnership with BK8 we look forward to exciting collaborations together that will help to grow both brands, particularly within Southeast Asia.”
The brand will also invest in several brand activations across the course of the partnership, which they believe will showcase their commitment to several local charitable initiatives in and around Birmingham. The deal also includes various advertising opportunities including advertising assets at Villa Park, which will be given to charity organisations to display promotional messages throughout the season.

GamCare Releases Evaluation of its Money Guidance Service
The gambling support charity GamCare is today releasing a new evaluation report of its Money Guidance Service, entitled ‘Bridging the Gap between Gambling Support and Debt Advice.’
The service is believed to be the first and only national initiative offering gambling-specific money guidance. It provides tailored support to individuals affected by gambling-related harm.
Evaluated by Dr Xia Lin and Professor Alessio D’Angelo – two experts in social and health research – the findings show the service filling a critical gap between gambling support and debt advice, providing trusted, valued and effective support to those struggling with gambling related-financial harm.
GamCare established the Money Guidance Service in 2022 – initially with pilot schemes in the East Midlands and Yorkshire and Humber – to support people with the financial impact that gambling harm can lead to. The service was rolled out nationally in 2023, where people could access a referral when calling GamCare’s National Gambling Helpline alongside the charity’s treatment services.
The evaluation report found:
- The one-to-one guidance offered through the service had helped enhanced financial stability, reduce debt, support recovery and contributed to their overall wellbeing.
- Participants in the report highlight the powerful impact of budgeting in helping manage finances, and the long-term impact of increasing their confidence and hope for the future.
- The Money Guidance team had also provided a significant level of internal training for advisors on the National Gambling Helpline, giving more confidence to make referrals and provide basic money guidance to callers.
- Stakeholders within the gambling harms and debt advice sectors also recognised the service as successfully bridging the gap between gambling support and debt advice, providing holistic assistance to those using the service.
Kathy Wade, Money Guidance Service Manager at GamCare, commented: “It’s fantastic to see the impact that the team has had in helping people recover from gambling-related financial issues, especially as we continue to rising costs impacted people in Britain. This report highlights the important steps the team is taking in helping people get back on their feet after gambling-related debt. We’re looking forward to implementing the recommendations of the report and continue building an excellent service which helps people get back in control of their finances.”
