Global Top Round Announces 2022 Cohort

Video game accelerator program Global Top Round (GTR), has announced its winners for the 2022 accelerator program. In partnership with the government of Lulea, Sweden, the annual conference brought together studios, publishers, investors, and influencers from throughout the gaming industry to network at one event. At the end of this conference, GTR selected 10 of the most promising studios to be inducted into its annual accelerator program.

The winning studios and their respective games include:

  1. Mastodonte – Beat the Clock
  2. Studio Chahut – Dog in the Machine
  3. CinderCat Games – Glum
  4. Melbot Studios – GodsTV
  5. Studio 85 – Magicards: The Elemental Kingdoms
  6. BLACKBOX Studios – Mecha Attack
  7. Enchanted Works – Nomori
  8. Digital Devotion Games – Project Tumble
  9. Sager Entertainment Group LLC – Spectrum: Tactical Stealth Action
  10. Pentakill Studios – The Occultist

The ten studios are eligible for grant funding starting at $40,000, with the potential to receive a follow-up investment of $60,000 as well as further fund-raising led by Global Top Round. Additionally, GTR will support the titles by advising on their game development and introducing them to the industry’s leading investors and publishers.

“This year’s studios really blew us away with their game-changing projects,” Pontus Mahler, Vice President of Business Development at Global Top Round. “We’re optimistic each of these titles have the chance to succeed and land major deals to help them scale their business.”

Checkd Media extends popular Big Sam video series ahead of Euro 2024

Sports content specialist Checkd Media, part of award-winning Checkd Group, is extending the run of its highly successful William Hill-sponsored show, No Tippy Tappy Football with Sam Allardyce, throughout Euro 2024 for what promises to be an exciting summer of football ahead.

Having proved to be a major hit across Checkd’s Footy Accumulators social channels since its creation ahead of the 2022 World Cup, the show has gained over 1 million YouTube views in the last month, as well as 32,000 YouTube subscribers and 370,000 audio downloads since the show started.

The series featuring leading names from the football world is continuing this summer with seven extra episodes airing across the competition.

No Tippy Tappy Football with Sam Allardyce started its extended run with former England and current Sheffield Wednesday coach Chris Powell joining hosts Natalie Pike and Sam Allardyce, with the trio discussing their final England squad picks and predictions for the tournament.

The series will continue to provide exclusive insight and opinions from the most high-profile guests and supply previews and reactions from on and off the pitch in Germany.
