Audrey Bouctot joins cutting-edge online sportsbook and technology provider tasked with streamlining its financial department

Honoré Gaming, the innovative online sportsbook platform and technology provider, has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Audrey Bouctot as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Bouctot has more than 15 years’ experience in corporate finance having worked as a financial controller for organisations across a range of industries including the automotive and energy sectors. She has also worked with several investment funds.

She joins Honoré Gaming from Poulehouse, a non-tech food industry start-up where she held the role of Chief Financial Officer.

As Chief Financial Officer at Honoré Gaming, Bouctot has been tasked with developing and growing the technology provider’s financial department. This includes streamlining processes, undertaking monthly closing (fast close), monitoring costs and setting KPIs.

Honoré Gaming has emerged as a leading provider of turnkey sportsbook solutions to operators targeting French-speaking countries across the fast-growing African market.

Its omni-channel solution covers retail and online with a powerful back-office where operators can manage all activity. Its platform is also fully customisable so that operators can ensure they meet the exact needs of players in the markets they target and also stand out from their rivals.

Christophe Casanova, Chief Operating Officer at Honoré Gaming, said: “We are thrilled to announce that Audrey has joined Honoré Gaming as Chief Financial Officer and for us to be able to leverage her experience in corporate finance as we continue to grow.

“That Audrey’s experience comes from outside of the sector is an added bonus, allowing us to take on board new perspectives and learnings from other industries and use this to help drive forwards with our own ambitious plans.

“I know that Audrey will be a key player in the direction we take the business and I look forward to working with her closely.”

Audrey Bouctot, Chief Financial Officer at Honoré Gaming, added: “It is a huge honour to join Honoré Gaming as CFO and to be given the responsibility of overseeing the company’s financial department.

“I am excited by the challenge of working within a new industry but believe my knowledge and experience put me in good stead to not only achieve but surpass the goals I have been set.”

Bacta issues rallying call following General Election delay to gambling reforms

Bacta, the trade body which represents the UK low stake gaming and amusements sectors is urging an incoming government to ‘finish the job’ of modernising gambling regulations and in the process to continue the industry’s support of regional economies throughout the country.

In a message to members released shortly after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called a surprise General Election for July 4th, Bacta President John Bollom said: “A snap General Election was always the biggest risk to getting the Gambling White Paper reforms passed into law.

“I am asking every Bacta member to contact their parliamentary candidates – especially the Labour Party candidates – to encourage them to support the land-based gambling reforms.

“We will be issuing advice to members on how to do this in the coming days.

“It is imperative, if there is a change in Government, that the Labour Party finishes the job and supports modernisation of our sector to support both the High Street and seaside towns.

“The reforms are so vital for our sector. I like to think they may have been delayed not derailed. Our campaign continues.”

Swedish BOS rejects the proposal “A new ban on gambling on credit”

Published

on

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS) submits its statement to the Ministry of Finance on the memorandum “A new ban on gambling on credit”, in which a ban on credit cards for gambling is proposed.

BOS rejects the proposal. This is justified by Gustaf Hoffstedt, Secretary General of the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling, among other things through the proposal’s negative consequences on channelization.

If the government nevertheless goes ahead with the proposal, BOS proposes that the obligation not to mediate payments for gambling purposes be imposed on those issuing credit cards rather than on gambling operators. In this way, it will be prohibited for credit card issuers, under the supervision of the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen), to mediate payments via credit cards for all gambling companies, including illegal and/or unlicensed gambling companies. Almost half of the Swedish online casino market is unlicensed and/or illegal due to heavy restrictions of the licensed market.

In the name of consumer protection Sweden should not add new restrictions on consumers that still place their bets on the legal gambling market. That is the main reason for us to turn this suggestion down. Should the government want to proceed with a credit card prohibition on gambling, we suggest that such restriction is directed not towards gambling operators but credit card issuers, since the latter are also serving the half of the market that is illegal and unlicensed, says Gustaf Hoffstedt.
