Bidstack & Xaxis partner to provide brands with enhanced global portfolio of innovative in-game advertising solutions
Bidstack is delighted to announce a new partnership with Xaxis, GroupM’s outcome media specialist.
The partnership enables Xaxis to access Bidstack’s extensive portfolio of seamless in-game ad formats and branded experiences. It also provides Xaxis with access to Bidstack’s global supply of programmatic inventory which features 70+ exclusive titles including Dirt 5, Football Manager 2022, and Top Eleven. The inventory is available across mobile, PC, cloud gaming and VR formats, with additional supply for console being added in the coming months.
In 2021, Xaxis expanded its portfolio of innovative, omnichannel media solutions to include a full suite of gaming products. The partnership with Bidstack further bolsters Xaxis’s ability to engage the growing, diverse, worldwide gaming audience through immersive, innovative, and effective content.
2021 was a breakout year for in-game advertising with the format becoming an established part of media plans for advertisers across the industry. The trend towards gaming was accelerated in part by the pandemic, with average playing times increasing by 14% globally and gamers across all age groups displaying a clear preference for playing games over watching TV shows and movies, according to research from Limelight Networks.
2022 is anticipated to be another important year for gaming, with in-game advertising gaining significant traction among advertising industry bodies such as the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) and updated measurement standards set to be introduced by the MRC (Media Rating Council), making campaign success easier to measure for advertisers.
Regarding the new partnership, Lewis Sherlock, SVP Programmatic at Bidstack said, “We are really proud to be working with one of the most respected names in the industry in Xaxis. The partnership is great news for Bidstack and is the culmination of around two years of groundwork from myself and the team. We are looking forward to scaling brand investment into a number of markets in the next few years and to work alongside Xaxis to deliver immersive branded experiences in-game for their clients.”
Julia Rast, Senior Manager, Global Solutions & Innovation at Xaxis added, “Developing a programmatic in-game product has been an exciting journey. Understanding the uniqueness and novelties of this type of media while answering the needs of our agencies and clients has been both challenging and rewarding. We’re confident that the partnership with Bidstack will allow us to further develop sustainable and impactful solutions that lead to stronger business outcomes for our clients.”

New Gamification Academy at SBC Summit to Present Fresh Approaches to Player Engagement
With gamification emerging as a driving force in the casino industry, SBC Summit introduces the Gamification Academy, an initiative built to confront pain points in engagement, retention, loyalty, and differentiation by exploring what truly keeps players coming back.
Launched in partnership with leading iGaming turnkey solutions provider Soft2Bet, the Gamification Academy will take place on Tuesday, 16th September, at the Sala Tejo, MEO Arena.
The programme forms part of SBC’s newly introduced Tech Academies, a series of immersive learning streams designed to arm summit attendees with practical know-how in AI, marketing, Web 3.0 & blockchain, and gamification.
Delegates can anticipate discussions examining the role of personalisation in driving loyalty, strategies for balancing gamified features with brand authenticity, and honest reflections on both the successes and challenges of gamification in the industry.
“Gamification has transformed how people interact with digital products across industries, and iGaming is no exception,” SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark said.
“Players now expect fun, engaging, and rewarding experiences, and that’s exactly what gamification delivers. The Gamification Academy will show the industry how to apply these proven principles to build deeper connections, keep players returning, and create more meaningful player journeys,” he added.
Kicking off the Academy, Soft2Bet’s Chief Product Officer Yoel Zuckerberg will lead the ‘Introduction to Gamification & Player Engagement’ workshop. Setting the stage for the day, the session offers a comprehensive overview of gamification’s power and how it has shaped the industry in recent years.
Chief Business Development Officer Toni Jermaniš (SofaScore), CEO & Co-Founder Josh Jones (Rise & Hustle), and Senior Solutions Engineer Alec Gehlot (Optimove) will focus on the player retention angle through their ‘Why Personalisation is the Key to Retention‘ panel moderated by Soft2Bet’s Chief Business Development Officer Martin Collins. The session will explore how tailored offers, customisable interfaces, and personalised recommendations are giving players more control over their experience and, in turn, strengthening loyalty and long-term value.
Following a networking break, two case studies will spotlight real-world lessons from gamification, dissecting what works, what doesn’t, and how to measure success.
First up is the case study titled “Baking in Gamification During Design”, led by Alexis Wicen (CEO, Scatters Group). In this session, delegates can learn how to weave gamification into their products without losing brand authenticity. Drawing on real-world examples, the session will examine where brands have succeeded in integrating gamification into their games and platforms, and where they have fallen short, showing delegates how to approach gamification more effectively in their own projects.
The second case study, ‘The Metrics of Gamification’, will examine where the impact of gamification is most evident and how brands can measure it effectively. Featuring Uri Admon (CEO, Captain Up), the session will cover key factors such as retention, loyalty, engagement, revenue, and player enjoyment, helping delegates understand how to balance player needs with company goals.
The Academy will close with ‘The Five Steps of Gamification,’ a panel hosted by Soft2Bet’s Head of Sales, Alon Eshed, joined by Helen Walton (Founder & CCO, G Games), David Olim (CEO, FootAR), and Tom Jang Lemke (CEO and Founder, SavageTech). By breaking down the fundamental building blocks of gamification, including rewards, progression, competition, and storytelling, the session will highlight how these principles form the foundation of more engaging and personalised player experiences.
The Gamification Academy will feature at the upcoming SBC Summit 2025, SBC’s global flagship event, taking place at Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena from 16–18 September. The summit will also host a six-track conference, a 135,000 square meter exhibition, the Affiliate Leaders Summit and Payment Expert Summit, plus a full schedule of evening networking events.

Cloudbet maps regional betting trends in August–September 2025
Leading crypto sportsbook and casino Cloudbet has released the first edition of Cloudbet Snapshot: Regional Crypto Betting Trends, a new series designed to track how bettors worldwide engage with their favorite sports. This inaugural snapshot, covering August to September 2025, analyzes betting activity across 12 of the most popular competitions—a curated slice from the thousands of events available on Cloudbet every day. The findings provide one of the clearest looks yet at regional betting behaviors during a peak period spanning the start of European soccer seasons, the US Open tennis championships, and the MLB playoff race.
Set against a global online gambling market valued at $87.69 billion in 2025 and forecast to hit $153.57 billion by 2030 (11.9% CAGR, Grand View Research), the results reveal a telling divide: while soccer remains the backbone of crypto betting worldwide, regional favorites like baseball, UFC, and Argentina’s Liga Profesional are reshaping the landscape.
“We took each region’s top five competitions and built a composite set to show where local favorites overlap or diverge globally,” said John, a Cloudbet spokesperson. “This snapshot gives a clean view of how bettors engage across regions, without drowning in the thousands of markets we host every day.”
Soccer dominates, but rivals (Grand Slams, MLB) break through
Globally, soccer accounted for 57.1% of activity in the sample, led by the Premier League (15.57%), La Liga (12.78%), and UEFA Champions League (10.08%). A London derby between Chelsea and Crystal Palace was among the top draws, underscoring soccer’s ability to anchor engagement across markets.
Tennis also stood tall. The US Open men’s and women’s singles combined for over 20% of activity, with high-profile matches in New York driving late-summer betting volume. MLB contributed 9.73% globally, a figure lifted by pennant-race rivalries such as Yankees v. Red Sox, which pulled bettors well beyond North America.
Regional snapshots:
- Latin America: Copa Libertadores (8.98%) and Liga Profesional de Fútbol (LPF) (8.53%) underlined local loyalties, with MLB making inroads at 10.89%.
- North America: MLB towered at 22.78%, supported by college football’s return (10.62%) and UFC (10.21%). The Du Plessis v. Chimaev bout captured enough attention to rival soccer, which managed only 10.42% in the region.
- Asia & Middle East: Soccer led, with Serie A (9.75%) joining global heavyweights, while UFC climbed to 5.98% — evidence of a growing combat-sports appetite.
- Europe: Soccer stayed dominant, but bettors also looked to the UEFA Europa Conference League (9.93%) and US Open Women’s Singles (10.03%), showing a taste for variety alongside the main football calendar.
Figure 1 note: The chart reflects a combined set of 12 competitions drawn from each region’s top five by engagement. It is not a global “top 12,” but rather a mix of favorites that surfaced across Latin America, Asia/Middle East, North America, and Europe.
Liga Profesional de Fútbol’s surprising global reach
Argentina’s Liga Profesional de Fútbol (LPF) emerged as a standout. While commanding 8.53% in Latin America, it also posted 3.59% in Europe and 3.07% in Asia/Middle East, both just nominally higher than its 3.06% in North America. Beyond diaspora ties and broadcast reach, analysts believe the LPF benefits from time-zone dynamics: evening kickoffs in South America align with late-night hours in Europe, giving bettors fresh live action after local leagues wrap up. By contrast, Copa Libertadores (8.98% in Latin America, 1.53% in North America) remains a more appointment-driven event, commanding big moments but not the same nightly presence.
“Bettors don’t switch off when the last whistle blows in London or Madrid,” said John, the Cloudbet spokesperson. “They roll straight into Buenos Aires or Montevideo, because those games are still live, the streams are cheap, and the action feels real. It’s the same reason a Yankees–Red Sox series or a UFC title fight can pull people in from outside North America — rivalries and timing matter as much as the sport itself.”
Cloudbet Snapshot methodology and context
- Scope: 12 most engaged competitions, selected by pooling each region’s top five during August 5 – September 4, 2025.
- Metric: Share of unique bettors per competition relative to the 12 listed, not sitewide volume.
- Timing: Coincided with European soccer kickoffs, MLB pennant races, and the US Open.
- Exclusions: Other competitions available on Cloudbet were not included, meaning sports like NBA, NFL, or niche leagues may be underrepresented, likely due to seasonal variability.
