Leading affiliate predicts bright future for eastern European betting market
Betting affiliate Leadstar Media is currently plotting serious inroads into a number of European markets that it believes hold significant promise.
The Stockholm-based lead generation specialists are currently looking to stake claims into various eastern European markets up to and including Poland, Ukraine and Romania, with additional plans to establish sites in Greece as well as Hungary.
Leadstar Media has grown exponentially in just a few short years. From its traditional markets in Scandinavia this betting affiliate has set its sights on launching products as far afield as Brazil, the US and even Australia and New Zealand.
However, European markets still hold many benefits for such betting affiliates, no less Leadstar Media, who currently run bookmaker comparison sites in Scandinavia, the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy.
Plans to move into further European markets are based on the success of past ventures, in particular one of their most prominent English-language sites BookiesBonuses.com, which primarily serves to compare betting sites and provide all round online betting advice.
Products in a similar mold have been successfully launched and compete in the aforementioned western European markets, which has heralded a view toward looking further east.
Earlier this year it was announced that the Ukranian gambling market would once again be open to private initiative, which will likely see the return of online casino and legalised sportsbooks to Ukraine. At the last count before the government reintroduced standardised lotteries the Ukrainian gambling market topped over $1 billion in revenue in 2008.
But Ukraine is just one country where legalised online gambling looks set to flourish. The likes of Poland and Romania already employ a licence system for online gambling, and while Poland only currently permits sportsbooks to legally operate, shifting attitudes towards betting online are seeing gains in the Polish gaming industry.
The likes of Hungary and Greece are also projected to become growth markets in the near future of the online gaming industry in Europe, one which is attracting attention from operators and affiliates alike.
The move for successful lead generation companies such as Leadstar Media to set their sights on additional markets in eastern and central Europe further bolsters the prediction of online gaming experts.
The role of transparent and trustworthy affiliates has seen consumers in nascent markets in South America, Africa and India gain vital knowledge of the online gaming landscape in their respective countries, all of which Leadstar Media sets serious goals for its products.
Leadstar Media’s bookmaker comparison platforms have so far garnered plaudits globally in providing new and experienced players alike with the necessary information needed to move forward in finding the premium online casino and sports betting
It looks set that eastern and central Europe will be the next beneficiaries of such expertise and outreach.

FairPlay joins Mastercard Start Path, shaping the future of AI-driven finance
Mastercard just announced the latest cohort of Start Path, its award-winning startup engagement program, and FairPlay has been selected as one of the eight companies pioneering the next generation of financial technology.
Why does this matter? AI is playing an increasingly critical role in financial decision-making—determining who gets approved for a loan, what terms they receive, and even how compliance is maintained. But without the right infrastructure, AI models can reinforce old biases instead of driving better, more inclusive outcomes.
“My vision for the future of financial technology is to build fairness infrastructure for financial services, allowing all financial institutions to de-bias their digital decisions in real time,” says Kareem Saleh, CEO of FairPlay.
As part of the Start Path New Networks program, FairPlay will work with Mastercard and its partners to scale solutions that help financial institutions refine their AI models, fix blind spots, and ultimately improve both revenue and outcomes for consumers.
With AI decision-making under increasing regulatory and public scrutiny, this collaboration raises important questions about the future of financial technology that Saleh can speak on:
- How can AI-driven decisioning improve financial inclusion without increasing risk?
- What role will open banking play in making AI models more accurate and transparent?
- How should financial institutions prepare for a future where AI accountability is a market expectation, not just a regulatory requirement?
