The things that lie ahead.

Throughout the last couple of days, unconfirmed information not released by our Press Office has circulated in the media space, alleging that WePlay Esports media holding plans to spend $10 million on Dota 2 and CS:GO prize pools. Also, the rumors discuss intent on hosting events on various continents. We would like to make one thing clear — this information is no more than rumors.

Someday, the media holding that is WePlay Esports might host events in China, Australia (as noted by our holding’s managing partner Yura Lazebnikov), or any other country. We also would like to allocate sums of that magnitude to prize pools and schedule events two years ahead. But we can’t do that in the current circumstances.

“Our team estimates that despite the uncertainty of the esports global calendar and complications caused by the pandemic, 2021 and 2022 will be tightly packed with tournaments. We are preparing an event schedule with unusual creative formats but due to quarantine restrictions, we can’t disclose it yet. Esports fans will have to wait for new announcements.” – Oleh Humemiuk, General Manager of the WePlay Esports media holding.
