Maya’s Treasure Slot Review
Ready to go on an adventure through the lush jungle? The Maya’s Treasure slot by Expanse Studios was just launched exclusively on Meridianbet and we can say that it’s the real deal. Thanks to breath-taking graphics and amazing audio-visual effects paired with adventurous gameplay, the slot machine may end up one of the best in the Maltese studio’s portfolio.
In this slot, you will join Maya the adventurer on the search for a major treasure in ancient ruins that resemble the mythical city of El Dorado. The Maya’s Treasure online slot has 5 reels with 3 symbols in each as well as 20 active pay lines. You form wins traditionally by matching at least three symbols on adjacent reels.
A cool slot that resembles Gonzo’s Quest and other adventure-themed slot games, Expanse Studio truly hit the jackpot with this one.
Maya’s Treasure Theme
As mentioned, Maya’s Treasure is an adventure-themed slot. These games have been popular in the industry for quite a long time and players are still excited by them. That’s no wonder – adventures in ancient ruins with chests of gold to hit are among everyone’s biggest desires.
This time, you won’t be heading into the dense jungle on your own. You will join Maya the archaeologist who’s just as eager to find the hidden treasure in the Mayan jungle herself.
How to Win in the Maya’s Treasure Slot
Winning in the Maya’s Treasure slot machine is not hard at all. The game makes use of the so-called Tumbling Reels technique which replaces winning symbols on the reels as soon as you score. To win, you’ll need at least three on adjacent reels.
The reels themselves are populated by columns that feature shiny gems or Mayan symbols. Maya herself is the game’s wild that substitutes for all other symbols except for the scatter. The latter triggers the game’s free spins round and comes in the form of a decorated column with a green gem embedded in the middle.
In terms of high-paying symbols, the column reliefs with faces pay the most. You can earn up to 2,500 coins for five on a line. The base game also comes with two special features attached to it. The first one is the torrent multiplier which starts at x1 and rises with each successful Tumbling Reels win. It starts with x1, rises to x2 on the second, x3 on the third, and x10 on the fourth tumble and beyond.
If you manage to land three scatters anywhere on the reels, you will get 15 exciting free spins.
Maya’s Treasure Slot Bonus Round and Special Features
The free spins round is made even more exciting thanks to the x30, x40, and x50 multipliers splashed on the reels. During this round, every time you land three scatters, each of the multipliers goes up by x3 until the end of the free games round.
If you land four, the multiplier rises by x4. When you land the maximum of five scatters, all multipliers go up by x5. At the same time, three scatters on the reels during the free spins round also give you five more free spins.
If you get truly lucky during this round, multipliers can reach up to x100 and bring you one step closer to the top reward worth 2,500 times your stake.
Maya’s Treasure Slot Machine RTP and Max Payout
The Maya’s Treasure slot comes with an RTP of 95.09%. That’s a bit lower than the industry average, but thanks to the multipliers, that’s not too much of a problem.
Expanse Studios is still to determine the slot’s volatility. From what we could notice during our playthrough, it’s between medium and high variance.
Graphics & Sounds
We’re already used to seeing perfect Expanse Studios slots and Maya’s Treasure is no exception. The game looks great with crisp-clear graphics, especially when it comes to Maya on the left side. The animated 3D model is reminiscent of Lara Croft’s best days, so when it comes to graphics, the Maya’s Treasure slot gets a perfect 10.
The visuals are paired with excellent sound effects too and a nice tiki-sounding soundtrack in the background.
Maya’s Treasure Online Slot Verdict
Maya’s Treasure is yet another home run for Expanse Studio. The small developer is constantly breaking new ground with every new release, and this slot is the perfect example of it.
It looks and feels great and the gameplay is fun too. Don’t let the low RTP fool you – it’s still a great slot with plenty to offer.
You can try Maya’s Treasure’s tumbling reels for real money at Meridianbet online casino and join the adventure yourself. Trust us – it’s going to be worth it.

ONJN Requests Meta and Google to Remove Illegal Gambling Ads
The Romanian National Gambling Office (ONJN) has sent official notices to digital giants Meta and Google, requesting the immediate removal of sponsored advertisements promoting unauthorised gambling in Romania.
The ads, found across Meta’s platforms and Google’s search engine, violated national laws and featured websites listed on the country’s official gambling blacklist.
ONJN has called on the two tech firms to urgently investigate the presence of illegal gambling ads, suspend all related sponsored campaigns, and disclose the identities and earnings of the accounts responsible. The regulator also urged both companies to introduce preventative measures to stop similar breaches from recurring.
According to Romanian law, advertising unlicensed gambling services is punishable by fines ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 lei (€9900–€19,800), with authorities authorised to seize any revenue generated from such activity. Providing payment, promotional or IT services to unlicensed operators may also constitute a criminal offence.
The updated list of licensed operators and prohibited websites is available on the ONJN website.

VGCCC: Minors Exposed to Gambling at ALH Venues
Victorian venues are putting young people at risk when they turn a blind eye to, or otherwise fail to prevent, minors entering poker machine areas, according to Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) CEO Suzy Neilan.
Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group (ALH) was fined $38,000 without conviction in the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria for offences involving 3 minors at 3 venues on 4 dates in 2024.
ALH pleaded guilty to 6 charges, having self-reported the breaches to the VGCCC, which Ms Neilan said was important to recognise as a positive step towards improving industry practices.
“Being accountable for wrongdoing demonstrates integrity, which has been a focus of the VGCCC’s ongoing work with gambling operators,” she said.
“But it’s not enough to own up after the fact. Venues must be proactive about ensuring that minors do not access poker machine areas by ensuring they have in place appropriate systems, processes and staff.
“Operators should undertake a risk assessment and put in place controls to prevent minors from entering gambling areas. Some examples of controls could include displaying clear signage that the poker machine room is for adults only and checking the identification of anyone who appears under 25 years of age.”
Ms Neilan said it was not acceptable that any Victorian clubs and hotels – in this case, the Cramers and Excelsior hotels – were repeat offenders.
A 17-year-old was able to enter the poker machine area of Cramers Hotel in Preston multiple times without having to show ID, despite several interactions with staff and visits to the poker machine area on 24 January 2024. Staff intervened on 25 January 2024 only after the underage teen placed his belongings next to a poker machine.
Separately, a child in the company of 2 adults entered the poker machine area of the Excelsior Hotel in Thomastown on 24 April 2024. The child, who was seated with one of the adults, pressed buttons on the poker machine before they were both escorted from the area.
And on 27 September 2024, a 14-year-old boy entered the poker machine room of the Mountain View Hotel in Glen Waverley and gambled on a poker machine before staff intervened.
Ms Neilan said the VGCCC would continue to be vigilant about prosecuting venues for allowing minors to access the gambling areas of their premises, but that “prevention is better than cure”.
“I encourage all hotels and clubs to review their operations, including staff training, and consider making any adjustments required to ensure compliance with the law.”
In addition to the fine, the Magistrate ordered ALH to pay VGCCC’s legal costs of $40,000. The Magistrate also noted that but for the guilty plea, he would have fined ALH $90,000 and recorded a criminal conviction.
Summary of charges:
Incident 1 – Cramers Hotel:
Charge 1: Offences in respect of a minor entering a gaming machine area
Charge 2: Offences in respect of allowing a minor to gamble
Incident 2 – Excelsior Hotel:
Charge 3: Offences in respect of a minor entering a gaming machine area
Charge 4: Offences in respect of allowing a minor to gamble
Incident 3 – Mountain View Hotel:
Charge 5: Offences in respect of a minor entering a gaming machine area
Charge 6: Offences in respect of allowing a minor to gamble.
