Betting exchange operator Smarkets has secured a betting licence from the Swedish Gambling Authority.

The licence will allow Smarkets to offer betting exchange services in Sweden via its primary Smarkets.com domain, with the brand expected to launch later this year.

A total of 95 companies have been issued licences to operate in Sweden since the country opened its regulated market in January 2019.

In August 2019, Smarkets launched its new proprietary sportsbook, which offers odds and a social media-inspired interface for betting on sport and politics.
