A representative of leading Italian gambling operator to speaker European Gaming Congress Milan 2019!
The Italian gambling industry has been on the agenda of many conferences and academic sessions in the past year and we have decided to once again do our best by bringing together both sides of the industry for discussions in Italy’s most business-focused city.
When it comes to debating whenever the B2B sector is booming in the regulated Italian market, you can see that many of the large brands have already set foot in the jurisdiction and competing for their share of local and international partnerships.
If we take a close look on the operations side, we see that Italian gambling operators are constantly improving their offerings by partnering with premium providers while also keeping a close eye on being compliant with the rules set by the Italian gambling authority, Agenzia delle dogane e dei monopoli (ADM). Additionally, operators are also stressing on being in line with the directives set by the Autorità per le Garanzie nelle Comunicazioni (AGCOM), the advertising and communications regulator of Italy.
As you may know, the gambling advertising ban which is fully in force applies to gambling products and services advertised on the internet, radio, and television. It stops clubs from obtaining gambling sponsors. The only operator exempt from the ban is the national lottery.
During the second edition of European Gaming Congress (EGC), which will take place in Milan (Italy) on the 8th of November at Radisson Blu Hotel Milan, SKS365’s Senior Strategic Advisor, Maurizio Bernardo will share the share expert information about being compliant in the Italian market as an operator in a panel discussion which will focus on Italy and Malta.

Maurizio Bernardo is the Senior Strategic Advisor at SKS365, member of Parliament in the XV, XVI and XVII legislatures. Bernardo was President of the 6th Finance Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. Throughout his political career, during which he has perfected experience and expertise in the gaming and betting sectors, Bernardo has also been part of the Lombardy Regional Government, with the task of managing Social Policies and Public Utility Services.
The European Gaming Congress (EGC) and Southern European Gaming Awards (SEG Awards) are specially designed to bring together industry experts, regulators, operators and service providers from all across Europe in order to discuss burning issues some of the markets are facing when dealing with compliance in licensing, operation and marketing.
The congress is organized yearly in autumn, gathers +125 C-level executives and gives the opportunity to discuss collaboration opportunities, learn about compliance updates and harvest the tech & marketing-related information which is presented by industry leaders from the ever-evolving international gambling industry community.
The second edition of the yearly must-attend conference of the gambling industry will focus on bringing new content and a different angle of view from the already established and emerging market.
The discussions include compliance and investment opportunities in regulated jurisdictions such as Italy, Malta, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the United Kingdom.

Sofascore Player of the Season Award Show Premieres on CBS
This summer in Zadar, sporting legends and top broadcasters came together for the first-ever Sofascore Player of the Season Award Show, filmed during the Sunset Sports Festival. Now, the show has reached millions as it premiered on CBS, bringing together football stories and data-supported awards.
The show celebrated Europe’s top performers from the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and many more leagues across the world, all chosen just through Sofascore’s objective performance ratings. No votes, no popularity contests. Mohamed Salah topped the Premier League with a 7.78 rating, Raphinha led LaLiga with 7.80, Mattia Zaccagni claimed Serie A’s best with 7.34, Joshua Kimmich was Bundesliga’s highest rated player with 7.91, and Achraf Hakimi shined in Ligue 1 with 7.76. Beyond this, the awards also celebrated the highest-rated player in the UEFA Champions League, the top leagues in women’s football, and many more standout performers from around the globe.
Hosted by Kate Scott and Peter Schmeichel, and directed by Emmy Award-winner Pete Radovich, the event featured exclusive insights from football greats and top analysts including Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards, and Alessandro Del Piero. Raphinha shared his pride as both LaLiga and Champions League’s top-rated player, while Luka Modrić made history by receiving Sofascore’s first-ever Founders’ Legend Award. In the audience, big names like Dimitar Berbatov, Stipe Miočić, and Šime Vrsaljko added extra prestige to the celebration.
The Player of the Season celebration extended beyond the TV broadcast, with massive billboards in London, Liverpool, Barcelona, Munich, Rome, Frankfurt, Lyon, Metz, and other European cities, showcasing Sofascore’s award winners. From Raphinha and Alexia Putellas in Barcelona to Mohamed Salah in Liverpool and Joshua Kimmich in Munich, fans across Europe could see the season’s best right in their own cities.
