The Bacta Charitable Trust donated £11k to Rays of Sunshine, a charity that grants wish days and experiences to children with serious or life-limiting illnesses. President of Bacta, James Miller along with CEO John White and immediate past President, Gabi Stergides, presented the cheque to Rays of Sunshine CEO, Jane Sharpe, and Head of Fundraising, Sara Rees.

Since the Bacta Charitable Trust launched in 1991, it has raised more than £3.25m for good causes. The 11k donation was generated through the Tickets2Wishes campaign. It is the latest contribution by Bacta to Rays of Sunshine which has totalled nearly £500,000 since 2012.

James Miller comments: “Rays of Sunshine is a brilliant charity, and we are privileged to be a supporter. This milestone demonstrates again why Tickets2Wishes is such an effective fundraising tool: something that’s easy to put in place, allows both operators and customers to take part, and raises significant amounts. We’re proud of the difference bacta members are making, and encourage more to get involved with the campaign.”

Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine, comments: “bacta has been a wonderful fundraising partner for us over a number of years. It has consistently shown the ability to galvanise its national network of both members and customers, and Tickets2Wishes has proven to be an innovative and highly successful fundraising approach. We’d like to thank the bacta community across the UK for its commitment and hard work, which really does make a difference.”
