Kentucky’s Republican Rep. Adam Koenig, along with 14 other sponsors, has introduced HB 175. The bill proposes to legalise both sports betting and online poker in the state.

According to the bill, the lottery commission of the state would act as the regulatory body for the industry. Citizens above 18 will be eligible to play poker, and the revenue from poker would be charged at 6.75 per cent.

Sports betting revenues will have a tax rate of 10.25 per cent for in-person sports wagers and 14.25 per cent for online betting. Operators would need to apply for a sports betting license, which would cost $1 million.
