After 43 inspections by the authorities, Merkur Casino (Gauselmann Group) in Germany has shown no abuses of the under age gambling rules.

There are over 300 spielotheks in Gauselmann’s domestic operation, all of which operate under the strict rules of the Youth Protection Act. A concentration on training of all staff in this respect is treated as equally important as any other function that they carry out in their day-to-day duties, said the company.

Tobias Volkmann, head of HR development at Merkur Casino, said: “The topic of youth protection is an important part of the curriculum of training.”

He said that there is a two-day introductory event for all apprentices and staff joining the arcades group and it includes youth protection.
