Japan has not completed its integrated resort (IR) bidding process. Still, the country has put in place policies for how the gambling operations will be allowed to advertise in the country. The regulations are widely seen as strict.
As per the new regulations, all casino advertisements will only be allowed in the international terminals of the country’s airports and seaports. In other words, the advertisements will not be seen by the general public by and large. Advertisements are allowed in areas such as immigration and customs of the international terminals. Other locations where advertising is often found, such as railways, buses and tourist information centres, are strictly off-limits to gambling ads.
