Draft decree “On providing remote access to virtual gaming establishments” was submitted for public discussion and published on the website of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of Belarus has sought remote access to the online casino database of all gambling operators. The government has prepared a draft decree “On providing remote access to virtual gaming establishments” and submitted it for public discussion.

As per the draft, the Tax Service should be given access to the databases through the Internet either with a public key certificate or with an encrypted password mechanism.

To protect connection channels, it is proposed to use a certificate of conformity issued in the National Conformity Assessment System of the Republic of Belarus and compatible with information security tools established in the Ministry of Taxes and Duties.

According to the decree, Access, is necessary to control the activities in the gambling business, check compliance with the law, when considering complaints, conducting the administrative procedures in appropriate cases, and so on. It is worth noting that news about Balerus’ plans to regulate online gambling appeared on July 5, when the Belarusian Tax and Duties Ministry has informed about its draft decree. It is expected that the first legal online casinos in Belarus will start operation in April this year.
